If you read the patch notes we posted for Killzone 2's patch 1.28 carefully, you'll see that the upcoming third DLC pack for the game will feature a pair of new multiplayer maps. Today we got some more details about those maps as well as the special weapons available in the pack.

The DLC pack will contain Suljeva Cliffside, which lets players shoot at each other on the rocky outskirts of the Suljeva mining village; and Arctower Landing, which brings players back to the Arctower defense posts of Blood Meridian.

Both multiplayer maps will also feature a new weapon each: the VC1 Flamethrower and the Boltgun 4400, respectively. The Flamethrower's the "Napalm", the Boltgun's the "Cordite." Now the pack name makes sense.

Here's a video of them weapons in action. You'll be able to download the Napalm & Cordite DLC pack next week, on July 23. No price mentioned yet, but expect to shell out around US$ 5.99 for it.

i thought the retro map pack was good. seeing ppl run for cover when the nuke explodes is probably one of the best fps experiences ever.

What a scam!!! 5,99 for a map and more trophies (and the trophies are clones from the other DLCs), and it's the 3rd DLC, just a way to reduce my total % of Killzone 2 trophies. Just save money and buy another game. Let's see how much time will they keep this dlc spree...

thats what I think. But all you'll just get flamed here by KZ2 fans.

I bought my Killzone 2 and I think I should have some free DLCs, I mean, I can't afford 5,99 every week and I've already paid 50%u20AC for the game... and Dead Space also has those crappy DLCs for noobs, now that is a l33t scam (BUT they don't come with more trophies, thankfully. What a pain to see a platinum without 100% trophies...) Plus here in Portugal, and I think in the whole Europe, there are no pre-paid cards. I kinda regret I bought this game...

I see no point in those DLCs, for me as a consumer, since they aren't free.

In the end, it feels like I've just bought half of the game.

» Hmm..

If they were worth the $6 each then I'd buy them but they're not sadly like most dlc that these games come out with. I can understand as a company point of view to make money, but if the game was on the PC you'd see tons of great user made content out within the month. They don't charge, because they want the community to enjoy what they created.

Better off getting a friend or two that has KZ2 and split the charge then it'd be worth it.

I still enjoy playing the game with the original maps and there are plenty of games still.

When I have extra cash I will pick up some of these map packs, but I am in no hurry.

Trading map packs with someone is a good idea....gotta love that PS3 lets you share Downloads with friends.
