Killzone 2 lead online designer talks about patch 1.24 |
Ó

Guerrilla Games has detailed the new Killzone 2 patch 1.24 which will be going live tomorrow. This is the biggest one yet, and aside from fixing bugs and exploits it also adds new functionalities like a new search game filter and three new ranks.
The new hardcore ranks, which are reached at 5,000, 10,000, and 100,000 points respectively, don't really give out any rewards. Killzone 2's lead online game designer, Eric Boltjes, explained that they're basically a way for the real hardcore players to show off their hard work.
As for the new search filter, Boltjes said that it was "a direct request from the community because a lot of people think the Â’sweet spotÂ’ of the multiplayer levels is around 24 players instead of 32 and are creating custom games accordingly." Same thing with the Join Clan Member tab.
Boltjes also talked about how they're addressing complaints about the lack of a party system in the game. While it's still not there, this patch does add some new features that should make it easier for gamers to play with their friends online:
These features include being able to join the same faction of a friend already in-game directly from the join game menus, manually being able to switch faction during gameplay and making existing squads consistent over multiple rounds; no more need to create a new squad every single round.

saboteur class... they need remove that *****
Whats wrong with it? I play/played it and it never felt over powered in any way since you can see past the disguise if you're observant. If anything the rockets could use a nerfing but even that's heavily debatable. I like the Saboteur class's gun but I think it needs a new one or something, other than that its a fine class.
I love the class, it's very fun to play. Fun to see noobs who use it though. The guys who put the disguise on once the battle starts and you can see the green name from across the map. I think if anything there needs to be a nerf on Assault (if anything make them move slower) because it's just an annoyance especially on smaller maps like Radec. I also think they need to make Tactician smoke grenades destroyable by the opposing team. The bull with Tactician/Assaults who boost next to your base and throw a spawn grenade is killing a lot of the enjoyment of the game. I personally play Scout/Saboteur. The camo is great obviously for sniping and makes it easy to sneak around placing Proximity mines. Also fun when you find a Shotgun and can put on your camo.
Noobs say they should remove this or that from a game because they can't stand dying/losing. I don't play FPS but that saboteur class sounds interesting.
