Killzone 2 Japan - Image 1

Although history would show that FPS games aren't that hot in Japan, SCEE's still taking the leap of faith anyway, bringing Killzone 2 to the region a month after North America and Europe gets their shipment.

April 23 is the  said release date for Japan, and will carry a tag price of Â¥ 6980 (about US$ 78), a bit higher compared to the US$ 56 retail price we have here. Then again, they are getting a demo, two of them in fact. Yeah, just when we thought we're finally getting something ahead of Japan, they still edge us out by getting something we don't.

Come March, they'll be releasing in Japan a demo where players can try out a selection from the campaign mode's prologue. And then later, they'll be getting an online demo. As far as I know, we're only getting one demo: for those who pre-ordered, you'll be getting it next week. For those who didn't, you'll be getting it on PSN the day before the release.

Oh well. Here are some screenshots for the Japanese release. Not so sure if they'll be dubbing it, but obviously, they're going for the subs. Oh, and there's also a newly opened Japanese Killzone 2 site put up. You might wanna check that out too, in case you're interested.

i heard the reason why the japs dont like FPS is because they hate using 2 joysticks

thats why if any of you have played Resi 4 or siren, you aim and move with the same stick

They're lazy at everything including their language. Seriously my Japanese teacher say that the reason why some Japanese people talk all dull is because they don't want to move their mouths.

I hope that Killzone 2 will offer Japanese developers some inspiration to make their own FPS game.

Dude thats utter bull*****,

Japanese are lazy and it shows in their language ? Makes you wonder why they still use approximately 2000 kanji ? Seems a bit of a waste of time to learn them, lets just impose our western way of writing and let em all use english!

[/sarcasm]

Also, Japanese people being lazy at 'everything' ?

I heared different stories concerning their work ethic though...

Japanese are anything but lazy, there might be lazy people in there, but to say every japanese person is lazy... comon, they aren't maxican.

different country, different culture.

Just like how SUV's are more popular than cars in America than most of the rest of the world.

I recon FPS games are popular in most western countries because where more influenced to the American culture, generally.

MGS4 did have it so you pretty much could play the game as a FPS but the sensitivity was way too low. If you had it on the highest setting it was like the lowest on COD. Not good for a FPS :/
