PS3Life.nl also received a tip-off that the closed beta was launched today - though I'm not sure if the Google translation from Dutch was accurate. I'm not sure if they meant the launch of the internal beta within Sony, or the actual European beta. The screenshots they posted indicate the latter (check out the first pic below).
Since I was deprived of a beta key because I don't live in the area, I can't validate this for myself. If you're from Europe and you got yourself a beta key, give a holler in the comments if the beta really has launched.
Whether or not it's the internal beta though, the screenshots they posted look like they came from a beta if not the beta.

Killzone 2 closed beta started today

An anonymous person tipped PS3Life.nl that Killzone 2 closed beta started today. In august there was news that speculated Killzone 2 beta would be released early October, today it seems that Sony has put the beta online and send out keys to people.
According to the tipper the graphics are lifelike and the camera moves along smoothly. He also adds there are many objectives to reach and there are bots that protect your spawning spot. He also likes the shadows and lighting.
The tipper also gave us some exclusive screenshots of the beta, these can be viewed below.
