Ken Matsumoto on Dynasty Warriors 6's developments and criticism - Image 1 Ken Matsumoto, producer of Koei's Shin Sangoku Musou 5 (Dynasty Warriors 6) was able to share what he thought about developing the game for next-gen consoles and about the criticism the game gets from western critics.

Matsumoto said that in developing the game for next-gen consoles such as the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, they had to redesigned the characters with new animations.

These improvements give off a certain atmosphere to the game players. Being a battlefield game, if players want to scope out a big area of the field, they'd have to climb ladders or cliffs and look. The game has a wide sense of vertical and horizontal views.

As for the criticisms being received by the game, Matsumoto said the much of the games out there are "criticized on what they're not rather than what they are." He also added that some of the reviews don't even "mention any of the new things" found in the latest sequel and that "when you get into an iterative series, subtlety is where the value lies."

Hopefully, Matsumoto's words could affect how western critics or even gamers view this game franchise especially now that the game is being
released on February 19, 2008.

» Meh

I've played a few DW games through out the series, some from the very early days, some of the more recent ones and over many platforms.... and they're all the same game. I really don't see how people keep buying them.

You can say the same for FPS games. Aren't they all the same with different titles?
