Karting and hybrid cars spotted in French PlayStation mag for GT5 |
Listed in: PS3 Tags: gran turismo 5, playstation 3 updates, Polyphony Digital
Gran Turismo is arguably the biggest racing sim out there, so you might as well include the other machines on wheels for the next installment. A French PlayStation mag has a feature on the two new additions to the series, so don't be surprised to see karting and hybrids when the game comes out.

From this scan, it appears that karting may have a significant portion in the game. Judging by the note down below, there will also be hybrids and electric cars in the roster. Not exactly the picture of speed, but it'll sure be interesting to see how those can manage at top speeds. About the oldies, there have been quite a few older models in the GT lineup, so perhaps Polyphony will be taking the vintage ones further back in the timeline.
The karts and the hybrids have already been confirmed previously by SCE Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida, so it'd be fun to take them for a spin once Gran Turismo 5 hits retail this November.

I personally don't buy the karting being any significant portion of the game.

Now for karting I don't remember hearing about a realistic kart simulation before(I may be wrong). If it's done right it can be a fun part of GT, though I don't see it as a main feature.
