Some would say that Electronic Arts' SKATE would give Tony Hawk's Pro Skater a run for the money. Tony Hawk, who nailed the 900 into stardom, looks at both games as different and would spark a healthy competition, but is SKATE really gonna share the spotlight? Flickit controls might flip the tables, dropping Pro Skater off the scene.

This innovative feature is no secret, having been revealed ages ago. EA associate producer Jay Balmer gives us a rundown on how to get physical and bust tricks with what seems to be a promising control scheme that can revolutionize the skating genre.

To get full control of your skater, left stick takes care of the body while the other is in charge of board movement. Couple of buttons are for both feet, and there's also a nifty brake button.

Let Balmer show you what we're talking about; watch the video embed below.

I'm really looking forward to Skate, it seems to take everything back to basics. Nice and simple skating, even if that was all it was I'd still get it to just mess around in the areas.
