One upped by Japan once again, we get to see more stuff that will most likely be in our dreams only. Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 5 BioHazard 5's street date in Japan (March 5) will also see a simultaneous release of respective console bundles for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

The PS3 bundle is quite... basic. Retailing for JPÂ¥ 48,980 (US$ 525), it's got your 80GB PS3 unit, two DualShock 3 controllers, and a copy of the game. So what's their perk? Well, aside from a cool box, the PS3 unit itself has the Tri-Cell logo (the new pharmaceutical company in RE5, and introduced towards the end of Degeneration). I find it rather classy - I love the matte finish there.

Meanwhile, the 360 bundle doesn't have any RE logos or themes or skins on the console itself. It makes do with freebies instead. Dropping for JPÂ¥ 34,800 (US$ 373), the RE5 Xbox 360 bundle is composed of the console, a 60GB HDD, 48-hour Live Gold member trial card, a copy of the RE5 Deluxe Edition (collector's tin, soundtrack, etc.), and other Xbox 360 peripherals. Perfect if you really want to make the most out of RE5's online co-op, huh?

A dumb logo on the PS3 and oodles of goods for the 360... there's something wrong there.

The PS3 looks a bit odd, i think with it being Resident Evil, the pattern should be Umbrella not Tri-cell, it looks like someones kicked a football at it XD

you do know that the only difference is that the 360 get's the collector's edition right? The article writer just went more detailed with the 360 because they usually sell the HDD separately. And the gold XBL is only 48 hours while the PS3 is FREE for life. I don't know what else is in the collector's edition but if it's just a soundtrack just download it online. The 360 does have a better price though.

That tri-cell looks like something from Bionic Commando. I wouldn't be surprised if Bionic Commando gets a PS3 bundle with the same PS3.

Then why couldn't the CE be included in the PS3 version?
