Japan's first PS3 Slim bundle features Gundam

Japan is gaga for Gundam. Understandable, considering the Gundam franchise is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Sony's also doing some celebrating of their own for the new PS3 Slim, so why not combine the two into one?

Sony is doing just that with the first bundle announced for the PS3 Slim. The bundle brings together the 120GB machine with a first print edition of the upcoming PS3 title, Gundam Senki.

 

The Gundam-Slim bundle also comes with a DualShock 3 controller, a voucher for Mobile Suit Gundam Senki Avant Title in full HD and a code to download extra mobile suits -- one for the FA-78-3 Full Armor Gundam and another for the RX-81AS Assault Armor.

Another point of interest is the Gundam Senki boxart, which has been clearly designed to go hand-in-hand with Sony's new PS3 branding.

The bundle will be available on September 3, the Japanese release date of both the game and the new console model. Japanese gamers and importers can get this for JPÂ¥ 38,359 (about US$ 409).

I'm sure the ps3 slim will sell well in Japan, the price tag is just awesome (gundam kit price is a bit less interesting).

It is NOT that Cross Fire game (anything can be better than that). It is for a Japan release and Gundam is huge there. Sure a GoW3 bundle would be more attractive I guess in the US.
