Folklore (FolksSoul) - new Folk on Japanese PSN - Image 1

A new detail was revealed from the Japanese PSN site regarding the upcoming Sony PlayStation 3 exclusive title Folklore (FolksSoul in Japan). A joke monster is apparently in the game and he has some real-life references.

The monster is called Gemaga and he's an "editor-in-chief." Don't get it? You shouldn't unless you're a Japanese gamer. Gemaga is actually the name of a Japanese game magazine and the Folklore monster named after it takes on the form of the publication's editor.

In Folklore, monsters are called "Folks" which can be captured when beaten so that you can use their abilities and powers to aid you in your quest. Apparently, Gemaga uses glamour attacks which do comical damage to your characters.

It's not clear what power you'll gain after acquiring the flashy monster's soul, but we've got a feeling that we'll get a weird kick out of it. In any case, we're not sure if this part of the game will ever get out of the Nippon homeland, so we'll just have to wait and see what the North American version has.
