It appears Take-Two Interactive's woes have only just begun. Apparently Jack Thompson is now attempting to influence Edward Johnson, chairman of Fidelity Investment (which, FYI, owns more than 20% of Take-Two) - that is, if this letter he supposedly sent Johnson is for real.In his purported letter, Thompson reveals his knowledge of information concerning Take-Two - stuff that he claims even Fidelity doesn't know - and says that someone at Fidelity urgently needs to talk to him as soon as possible.

Dear Mr. Johnson:
As you know, Fidelity reportedly owns more than 20% of the above company's stock. In one year that stock has fallen in value from $28 to $9, primarily because of the "Hot Coffee" scandal which broke because of Senator Hillary Clinton's July 2005 press conference. I prepared Senator Clinton for that news conference, and here is a graphic depiction of the subsequent stock price tumble:
I was on CBS's 60 Minutes twice last year regarding Take-Two, and the August 2005 issue of Reader's Digest reported my efforts against this company. They didn't report a tenth of what I know.
Mr. Johnson, I know some facts about Take-Two that your company apparently does not know. The latest SEC investigation of Take-Two, announced Monday, comes as no surprise to me. It may come as a surprise to you and your analysts, however, that there may be some very significant problems with certain information in Take-Two's 10-K filed with the SEC months ago. I identified those potential problems immediately and shared them with the SEC. I also shared them with the lawyers who are seeking class action status for shareholders suing Take-Two.
One of the potential problems we have here (more accurately, that Fidelity has here, in my opinion) is the fact that the outside general counsel to Take-Two is the Philadelphia law firm of Blank Rome, which is also Take-Two's registered lobbyist on Capitol Hill. What I can tell you about Blank Rome and other aspects of Take-Two's problems might help explain why Take-Two's audit chair, Barbara Kaczynski, quit the Take-Two board, hired a top-notch criminal attorney, and wrote the SEC about Take-Two's alleged cover-up by senior management.
In short, without herein divulging all I know, I'll say this: Somebody at Fidelity needs to talk to me immediately if not sooner. You all owe that to your investors.

If don't think it's real because I doubt an attorney would use such language in a letter attempting to be serious. To me, this letter smacks of some high school or college kid that read something in a Bloomberg report and decided to write up a fake letter. The punctuation errors in the last two paragraphs alone make me suspect of the source. Lawyers are grammar and punctuation Nazis. They have to be because correct interpretation of law and evidence can mean the difference between winning and losing a case.
I actually beleive it because any lawyer should know that taking a personal vendetta against an entire industry, especally one as large as the video game industry, will ruin their career. So this man is probably fairly unintelligent.
Remember the old Wall St adage, the best time to buy is when no one else wants it. TTWO at $9 and a multi-year low looks very tempting..

In everything I see this jack*** write, he comes off as a sophmoric prick doing whatever he can for media attention. I've seen him respond to articulately-written emails with nothing more than a couple poorly worded sentences and an insulting tone.
This stands out though. Yes, he's still being a petty, attention-grabbing whore, but he comes off halfway-intelligent and it looks like he almost knows what he's doing, which is an improvement for him.
I still hope he fails in all of his pointless endeavors, but at least he realizes that no one listens to an oversized child throwing a tantrum...well, okay, so this is the same thing, but at least he sounds like a lawyer now.
My, Jack Thompson is quite the instigator. I don't see him (Or old Hilary, for that matter) going after violent movies. Or violent literature. Which, in my opinion, are in the same category as video games. All are public forms of entertainment, but they single out video games. Can someone please give me a logical answer as to why that is so?

there are some good reasons stated in belief that this is Thompsons letter (see 15), but there are also some good reasons stated in non-belief that this is his letter (see 12).
normally, one would think that anyone with a goal similar to JacK Thompsons would mean that person would have to look good and not make any (or very few at most) mistakes. but on the other hand, Thompson is, in a way, an attention whore, and anyone with that quality would make more mistakes than the average person (in spelling and grammar too)
anyway, thats just my 2 cents on the matter. it is confusing as to whether or not this is actually Thompson and i dont know how much sense i am making right now, so please do not flame my comment
What you got to ask yourself is, "What kind of idiot at Take-Two decides to share such an incriminating letter?" Also, that idiot would have to be a pretty powerful employee to get his hands on such a letter.

Ok seems the letter is addressed to Edward C. Johnson, III, Chairman of Fidelity Investments. Not someone at Take-Two as I originally thought (Damn, I feel stupid for not checking the first time).
Right... Well I still don't see this guy from Fidelity letting such a letter go public. Especially since people on Kotaku were saying that the letter included Jack Thompson's land-line and cellphone numbers. That fact should also rule out Jack Thompson sharing the letter with the public, but he's an imbecile, so there's a chance he wanted to "brag" and simply did not have the brain capacity to understand this. I did not see the phone numbers, but I did not look too hard. However, if the phone thing is true, You COULD give Mr. Thompson a call and lay on him a piece of your mind, but I am not advising anything to anyone ;D
Jack Thompson is a videogame hater, and he's always looking to sink some major game developer that offers adults (yes, 18 or older people are primarily the only ones allowed to purchase M-Rated games these days) entertainment, that has a slightly violent edge. Or, so I have HEARD.
Supposedly something is wrong with how Take-Two is taking care of its shareholders. Perhaps misinforming them. Or SOMETHING to that effect. I am really not too sure because I don't want to examine the 10-K they filed, which Thompson says holds some key incriminating information. I don't think I could make heads or tails of it anyways. If you want to look at it, they had a link on Kotaku.
So I'm guessing Thompson went and sent a letter to the biggest shareholder (I assume Fidelity is at 20% of all shares) and is trying his next front on the videogame industry.
Funny thing is, this time he is not trying to get rid of the violence in video games, but sink the developer (Take-Two) by finding something wrong with ANYTHING they do (such as this stock market jumbo) and exposing it, so they can be sued accordingly. If Take-Two IS cheating shareholders, then yes, they deserve it, but what makes Jack Thompson a slimeball is the fact that he looks and finds anyway to kill Take-Two, just because he doesn't like violent video games.
Granted, that is IF this letter is LEGIT!

I don't think he would have warned FYI about his findings. He would have ran home where he lives with his mom in the basement, and made a new law to restrict games. Every case that Jack Thompson lost 98% of all the cases in which he sued a video game company, most didn't even make it to court.
