It's final: Joker won't be playable on Arkham's Xbox 360 version

Joker - Image 1

The playable Joker will be exclusive to the PS3 version of Batman: Arkham Asylum (PS3, Xbox 360, PC). This is to finally put an end to those rumors claiming that the Joker DLC is also coming to Xbox Live. Rocksteady's Sefton Hill has made the confirmation and Xbox 360 owners will miss out on the must-have add-on.

The Joker DLC came with an exclusivity deal with Sony so there's no way it could be on XBL, regardless of what the rumors may say. Small consolation for Xbox users though, future DLC coming to Arkham will not be PS3-exclusive.

» LOL!!!

XBOTS=OWNED! jk.

But seriously who cares? We both get the game and its gonna be great each system gets certain things, i mean how boring would it be if both systems had everything?

Like it matters anyway lol,wow joker who cares.

You're one of those type where when the PS3 doesn't get it and the xbox 360 get it you gloat about it like it's the second coming of jesus but when it's only a ps3 exclusive you say who cares. Wow.

by Sublime85 - 2009-07-19 15:27
» No Big Loss

I agree. Who cares? I'm buying it because I want to play as Batman, not as the Joker. Last time I checked this game wasnt called Joker: Arkham Asylum.

» HOLY *****

OH MY GOD! THIS MAKES ME WANT A PS3 SOOO BAD!!!

I HAVE to play as the Joker.

» meh...

i've always hated exclusive anything...

let the systems stand (or fall) on their own.

it sucks to miss out on any gaming experience just because you couldn't afford all the systems, or happen to like one over the other.

oh the days of renting a SNES just to play killer instinct... Combo Breaker.

by lavino - 2009-07-19 15:48
» Look on the bright side...

At least not like SoulCal4's Vader VS Yoda... they don't bother to let you play as Robin on 360 ;P

by narutosaiyan - 2009-07-19 15:57
» the thing is

ps3 owners get the joker and batman...which is better than just batman. u see there is no point in denying it or making it seem like its all the same, for the first time ps3 will get exclusive dlc, thats great and all and i will enjoy it but there are way too many other good games coming out as well. i mean there is uncharted, mag, mw2 etc etc. so i think 360 owners shud get joker as dlc that way they can keep busy while im playing uncharted 2 and mag

by gogeta85 - 2009-07-19 16:14
» who cares again

Im getting it on xbox 360 either way,i just hope the combat's good cause once i beat it im done like all games lol.

» lol I agree

But look, there's always people that will get bothered by the truth. Honestly the Joker will boost sells significantly on behalf of the PS3. You also have the people who saw the movie and will convince them that its badass to be him so they get the PS3 version. I mean who hasn't heard or read the "whyy soo seerioussss" all over the place? People just buy into the propaganda .

by 0genmu0 - 2009-07-19 18:14
» Who cares.... wth are you on?

LoL. Damn fanboys really need to just move on. Ironic how the "who cares" line just makes you think, IF YOU DON'T CARE, WHY DO YOU EVEN POST ON NEWS LIKE THIS?, it's obvious that you care... if you didn't you wouldn't be wasting your time.

Whether your a PS3 or 360 fanboy.... really.... grow up, it's just video games. It's not like your bickering or complaining is gonna change anything. It's nice to support a console but still... this is really getting pathetic.

by Csyrah - 2009-07-19 18:36
» ...

yeah I agree with you completely. Realistically, everyone cares about game content. In this case, people dont even know enough about this to say they dont care. If a review popped up "Playing as Batman actually isnt as fun as playing as the Joker" then the same people who didnt care end up throwing a fit. Still your completely right... Its just a game and its just a console. Your still working at your job and your little grimlins are still going to school... no big deal.

by D3ATH_4N6EL - 2009-07-19 18:47
» who cares....like all...

i have ps3 will be getting this game not because of joker but because of batman sure joker is awesome but after playing a demo of this game it was frikin awesome just playing as batman frikin combos, slow motion kicks and punches, and throwing batangs what could possible be more awesome than that!!! the demo was awesome by the way but it only had challenge mode no a story mod level they could at least let us play one lever for story... but its better to wait i'm hype

by JOshISPoser - 2009-07-19 19:49
» you're like children

when someone takes your ball or buys the last big toy you say who cares, but really want that.

stop acting like you don't care, it's awesome that joker's in it!

plus, do you play only as Tony Hawk in THPS? No, you play as the other skaters too

» I sure do miss the good old days in console gaming.

I do miss how you can buy a good game and know that all the content is in the game that the developers decided to put in it from the start without having to rely on dlc so much. It was nice to slap in a cartridge and just play without much hassle. Now it seems like a lot of games get released before they're either complete or requires the player to jump through hoops to play it fully. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy a lot of the improvements and add ons with updates and dlc, but it takes away the value of my actual game if I want to resale it. Now when you go buy a used game, you have to download all kinds of stuff just to play it. First you need a decent internet speed. You put the disc in and have to install/sign in/update, wait for loading screens, download all the extra content, before being able to play the full game. Also todays consoles are so delicate to the environment. Old school cartridge systems were rugged and not as complex that you have to worry about every action you have your console in to keep it running. One of these days once memory cards get more storage capacity and be faster, game companies could revert back to a simpler way of managing data for us all to make life more simple like the good old console days.

Sorry for the rant. Just on my mind that's all

by poopoopilot - 2009-07-20 03:02
» My guess

This will go down like FALLOUT 3. The DLC will mysteriously appear after a few months and some "talks" about hurting "secondary sales".

I blame gamestop.

» @ blktunda

i am not surprise that gogeta85 is coming off as indifferent towards the exclusive dlc, to tell you the truth, im the same way. i kept hearing xbox getting is getting this and that, until i realized it really shoudn't matter since the game is good on its own. dlc is just extra to keep someone playing the game longer, and the longer it is kept, the cheaper it would be for resell.

by Link75e - 2009-07-20 08:13
» it doesnt matter

if the game is good then the war can start but right now you cant say anything cause nobody's played the whole thing yet so you cant say its great. Remember assasins creed? it was great for the first 30 mins after that it was doing the same thing all over again but the area would have less grass or more grass.

by rollypoly - 2009-07-20 08:23
» not that far off...

full game downloads and 8gb memory cards would make it a reality on 360...

if only they would charge reasonable prices for memory cards it would work well...

$50 for 512mb, wtf is this the 90s... an 8gb sd card can be had for $15. show em the way nintendo...

by Emblazin - 2009-07-20 09:42
» All the xbots

Hey look, the PS3 is getting exclusive DLC, and your not and all of a sudden you "don't care" about the PS3 and what not?

All you xbots do is bash the PS3 saying how much "better" it is. I like paying $400-$500 for the console and $60 for a game and being able to play ONLINE with my friends without any additional charges.

Not to mention but I also love how there are "Xbox Gold Member Exclusives"... such a waste of $8 a month when I can get the SAME game for a comprehensable amount (Whats with MS Points) without having to pay for my account.

Go troll somewhere else, no one asked you to look at this.

» Old days are gone

@GUNBEHINDTHESU N: While I applaud you for a truly thoughtful post (amidst a bunch of silly, "Naw, keep your stupid Joker!" posts). At the same time, I think the reality is that we're never going back to the "old days" (whether or not that is really desired anymore). Whether or not future games will be on a wafer-thin flash card, a blu-ray, a download, or if Nintendo suddenly decides to make an N128 with a gigonzo-sized cartridge .... DLC is here to stay. And, for the most part, I kinda' like the 'Easter Egg' aspect of it: waiting for Thursday's PSN update to see what the publishers have to add-on to one of my favorite games. Yes, in the end, some day all of these consoles, and the network files will become obsolete. Trying to run all this DLC 10-20yrs from now might be hit-or-miss. So, 'retro-gaming' won't be as straight-forward in the future. But, Videogames are largely a 'disposable art' (we play, we conquer, we leave-behind), so DLC isn't so out-of-line with the core concept. And, (back on-subject) I have to give kudos to Sony for starting to play hardball with Microsoft .... because Joker IS a big win for PS3!

by Csyrah - 2009-07-20 17:42
» ah man

You know, outta having all three consoles for years.. (never play the wii anymore after wiisports, on #4 xbox 360, 60gb PS3 running strong)... I personally like the PS3 by far. With that said, and coming to my point of this... is the PS3 fanboys. Geez guys, if you are going to support the console, try not to sound like a complete moron in the process... go do some research first.

by blkthunda - 2009-07-21 05:34
» ...

What are you smoking dude? Do research on what? No one here was comparing any facts/opinion. You want them to search on the "who cares" part?

by Csyrah - 2009-07-22 11:07
» @blkthunda

Wow hostile... SORRY. I was generalizing, in which I didnt say in that post "is the PS3 fanboys in this topic". With that said, point being... PS3 fanboys tend to defend their console without using any informative or close to convincing material. I didnt mention 360 fanboys because they really dont have much material to talk about (just my opinion). Someone did sound like a moron in this thread though, so that part of it was relevent (even before your post). Thank you for your concern on trying to correct my post for the better part of the qj.net community.

To answer the first, I'm not smoking anything... but im hoping to get my refill of vicodin on saturday.
