Is GAME UK refusing to stock The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion?

Oblivion out of stock at GAME? - Image 1Just recently, the PS3 version of Bethesda's award-winning RPG, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, was released in PAL territories. This event has, of course, sent many PS3-owning fans running to stores to get a copy, but there may apparently be a problem with this picture. As Games Industry reports, it seems that the high street video game retailer GAME, either has not, or refuses to stock up on copies of the said video game title.

Despite having already gone on sale since April 26, it appears that all of GAME's branches across the UK and Ireland do not carry the title. Many find this odd, as a large retail chain such as GAME would have already had stocks of a game prior to its release, especially if the game is a popular one.

Upon checking the GAME website, though, we have also found that Oblivion is currently listed as "out of stock", as shown in the screenshot we have here.

So... since the Xbox 360 and PC version of Oblivion seems to be available, does GAME have some hard feelings towards Ubisoft, the publisher of the PS3 version of Oblivion? Do they dislike Sony, after that incident that they had with that infamous store sign that they had from last month? Or did their shipment of discs of Oblivion for the PS3 simply get lost or hijacked somewhere along the way?

GAME is yet to issue a comment about this matter.

Gameplay.co.uk doesn't have it too but they sent a email out saying

distribution centre, we will be unable to fulfil your order for release day.

We are working very closely with our supplier to fulfil your order and we will

contact you with a confirmed delivery date as soon as possible.

As a gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience caused we have reduced the price

and as Game And Gameplay Are Part Of The Same Group They Both Could Be Having The Same Problem With The Supplier

i was just in bluewater and was looking for it. It was in EVERY other store that sells PS3 games accept game. This is the first time ive heard of game not having a big game on release day. tis a bit streange if you ask me. The guy in the store said they hadnt gotten any in so i have no idea whats happened. I wasnt too bothered though as im far from completing resistance fall of man and no where near completing motorstorm, my part time job became full time and im out 5 nights a week so thats bugger all time for game playing. bought family guy season 3 and american dad series 1 instead lol, but i get paid monday so my local gamestation can have some of my money during my lunch break. hmm i get an hour for lunch, think my boss at O2 would let me play my ps3 lol.

Apparently, its to do with GAME refusing to buy Oblivion at the price Ubisoft wants... Until a price is agreed on (or not as the case may be), you won't be seeing Oblivion on PS3 in GAME anytime soon.
