Development studio Insomniac Games has no plans of cutting ties with Sony and moving towards multiplatform development any time soon. This was revealed by Ryan Schneider, Insomniac's director of marketing and communications, in an interview with Games Industry.

When asked if they though Resistance 2 would have sold better if it was multiplatform, Schneider said:

Sure, as an independent developer, you do consider those options - but at the same time we do have a great relationship with Sony. We've been with Sony for a long, long time now, and that's where we intend to stay for the foreseeable future.

The choice to remain with Sony seems to be an easy one for Insomniac, as Schneider says that Sony "bends over backwards to work with its development teams":

Their product development team is second to none - we absolutely love working with them. Their PR and marketing folks are terrific to work with and very dedicated to the cause, and there are some very creative people there. We feel very fortunate to have that sort of relationship in place.

Insomniac will be releasing Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time this fall on the PS3.

Insomniac

as a independent developer has been with Sony since the Playstation One. Now its up to the PS3 and they still remain with Sony. Now that's what I call loyalty. Not sure if Xbox 360 has any of these kinds of developers since the only way MS knows how to get loyalty is to throw money at them.

welll...

I don't really consider myself a fanboy. i've tried a Wii a couple times and didnt care for it much. but can respect it for being unique. had a 360 and before that an orginal xbox for a few select games. but i had to part with it before gears of war's release now i do own a ps3. which i love deerly. i miss the ability to play your own music during games. but thats bs for microsoft patenting it. i can't really think of too many developers that have stayed with the xbox tho. aside from bungie. microsoft has (atleast in my eyes) just been paying publishers or str8 up buying them away. look at rare it used to be a nintendo gig and a big example that really irks my boat is the gta series. first the ports. but i can understand that a lil but stealing our DLC for GTAIV.....thats essentially what they did. wish i had the kinda money they spent on that. now sony has a powerful console (tho overpriced still) that people won't be almost fully utilizing till the end of its life cycle (10 yrs). devlopers will release blockbuster titles on it, and from what i've read here and a few other articles they treat some of there publishers very well. atleast on developmental note (sharing of engines and coding techniques). im sry im kidna high and just rambeled but i think you got my point sony is a wonderful company to produce for, but microsoft just keeps buying em up
