Insomniac: We havemore than just one game cooking

insomf2Last January, the Internet was abuzz as Insomniac posted a job listing for a FX artist for their new, unrevealed PS3 game. And while it's got everyone hyper and excited with the guess that it's for Resistance 3, there is, apparently, more than just one game cooking up inside Insomniac's kitchen.

James Stevenson confirms this, saying that they are working "on more than one game right now." Of course, the team "can't wait to show" everyone what these projects under wraps are.

Said Stevenson, "If you're hoping that I will announce a future title here, you will be disappointed. That will not prevent me from telling you that we are busy working here on some really cool stuff that we can't wait to show you."

He furthered, "What we will tell you is that after teh launch of A Crack in Time, there was some well-deserved time off for folks. We began to ramp up on other projects, and are currenlty underway on more than one game right now (which will be no surprise to anyone who knows how our production pipeline works).

Apart from Resistance 3, what other game could they be working on?

Next Ratchet & Clank. They always work on both. Release Resistance, then Ratchet, then Resistance, then Ratchet, etc.

Wouldn't it be weird yet fitting if it was a collaboration game with Sucker punch bring Ratchet and Clank together with Sly Cooper and the gang?

Sly Cooper most likely. The game seems to pop out of people's mouth every time Insomniac is doing something. Shiit I'm hoping for that too.

Why did I just confuse them with Sucker Punch? Damn you jjcobra. It might be a new IP. I really doubt they're going to bring Spyro back.

Hmm, maybe a new Insomniac-developed Spyro? It's the only way I'd play anything that came after Spyro 3.

That would be the greatest gift EVAR! How ever, I dont think it would be. However, even though I am in my 20's now, I still enjoy the more Kids/Teens games the make. I hope its something like it!

They've previously stated in their podcast that they alternate their staff from resistance to ratchet and clank, so im betting its some new r&c game - perhaps another psn game like quest for booty?

Hopefully they are working on a good R&C game. Don't get me wrong ACIT was a good game, but it was miles behind Going Commando or Up Your Arsenal in gameplay and level design. I enjoyed the new space fighting(still not as good as in GC but the exploration was cool) but each planet you went to had only one thing to do and practically no exploration. In older games the worlds felt much more alive and versatile, I was disappointed when there was no vast wasteland to hunt strong monsters. Those Ice Dragons from GC are the most badass normal enemy in a game I've ever played. Bottom line ACIT had action but not enough adventure!
