Insomniac: Resistance 2 co-op mission setup takes 15-20 hours to complete |
Ó
Insomniac Games community manager JS provided some info on the length of the co-op mode in Resistance 2. He said each of the six maps has different areas available, and each of those would take 15-20 hours to complete.
There are six locations, each has quite a few different areas, and a single-playthrough of any will not show you nearly the entire map or all of the different set-ups on it due to the randomization of the playpath. It probably takes between 15-20 hours to see every single co-op set-up and encounter.
With the addition of the co-op mode, it looks like we can get more mileage out of Resistance 2 than it already gives us. Completionists would have a job getting everything, but I'm sure they'll have fun getting there.

It doesn't say that each level will take 15-20 hours to complete, it says that it will take 15-20 hours to see everything. I'm thinking that means everything, across all the levels.
90-120 hours would be like adding Fallout 3 to the existing single player campaign. And then some.
I know this for a fact, I've played co-op in the resistance 2 beta for about 20 hours total now and I just barely saw something I had never seen before. Each time you play it gives you a different random route through a map, but you never go through the same areas or fight the same bosses
heh, buddy, i don't know which beta you were playing, but whenever I played the coop, it ALWAYS gave me the same battles/bosses, just in different orders...
@nyr2k2
He's not saying that the coop is going to last 90-120 hours, he's saying that it will take that long to compete the entire game (ie, single player campaign, coop campaign, leveling up every class to level 30, competitive, etc)
I don't know how long you've been playing but I bet if you keep playing you'll see something new
@spicy
"According to JS, each of the six maps would take 15-20 hours to complete - that's a total of 90-120 hours of more gameplay."
He's speaking the context of co-op, saying a total of 90-120 hours more. I'm pretty sure Glenn meant just co-op...
Oh well, either way, can't wait.
From the actual article:
"It probably takes between 15-20 hours to see every single co-op set-up and encounter."
