Infinity Ward updating CoD 4: Modern Warfare PS3 database - Image 1Infinity Ward has a nice update for those who love playing Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on their PlayStation 3s (also on Xbox 360 and Games for Windows).

According to the company's Community Relations Manager Robert Bowling (aka fourzerotwo), the developers are working very hard right now to improve the stability and speed of the title. He explained:

They're upgrading all server hardware as well as dedicated and individual database to each functionality to improve performance and handle the traffic hitting the servers (i.e. Database for Matchmaking, Database for Leaderboards, etc.).

This will greatly improve the speed and stability for matchmaking for players.

The community relations manager also said that players may receive the "Downloading Game Settings" message from time to time during the update. Take note, however, that this is just temporary and the prompt will no longer appear once the updates are done.

While waiting for the updates to finish, why don't you take the time first to read QJ.NET's review of the game?

» That's too bad

I enjoy this game everyday with minimal problems. Besides the usual wait for finding a game, maybe 5 minutes sometimes but not a big deal really, certainly nothing to cry about.

» sucks for you.

I bought the game at midnight launch and have been playing ever since with no problems at all. I haven't even seen the downloading settings message one time. If you trade this game in you are surely daft.
