Infinity Ward to stop making DLCs for Call of Duty 4

Call of Duty 4 - Image 1Unfortunately, there won't be any more DLCs coming your way for Call of Duty 4 (PS3, Xbox 360, PC). But why would Infinity Ward pull such a mean stunt? Well, it's more of unfortunate than mean, actually. But there's actually a very good reason for this move.

That's because they're all gonna be busy prepping for their next title. That's right, no less than Infinity Ward's communications head, Rob Bowling, divulged this detail over at the Xbox Forums. According to him, "Every level designer/ texture artist/ environmental artist/ etc. working on a new map for a previous game is one less working on a map for a future game."

Makes sense, don't it? Anyway, it's not hard to figure out what "future game" he was referring to that would require everyone's participation in the developmental process. They've already confirmed another Call of Duty next year, remember?

Its not like they gave us much of anything anyway... except a few s**t maps that no one likes to play on account that they're voted down within a minute.

There's no way I'm buying your next game...

You could at least have released those playlists....

yeah that's exactly what i was thinking. i never thought they had been working on any DLC in the first place and was surprised when they announced the release of the map packs... which ended up being fun for all of 2 weeks

Such a big game for them, and they cancel DLC? All they even did was add 4 maps that apparently, everyone hates since they do indeed getting voted against before they even appear.

They were working on some new playlists as well, which I guess are getting scrapped as well. Oh well.

didn't they have a map design competition? what happened to them? as we never saw any on xbox. i quite liked the map pack they did release but i paid the full price for that and it certainly wasn't value for money, one of the maps wasn't even available in most game modes.
