Some surprising news for PS3-exclusive inFamous today, folks! For one, the projected release date of the game won't be this June after all. No, no, it won't be delayed. (Woot! A rarity!) This game is now actually scheduled to be released ahead!

The game will now be released on May 26 in North Ameica, and coupled with this announcement, we hear of some pre-order goodies too! Unfortunately, Sony didn't list details on which "participating retailers" we can get the items below from, so you'd have to check on your local stores to be sure:
  • Unlockable in-game super power: Cole McGrath's "Gigawatt Blades"
  • Limited edition inFamous "Reaper Gang" PlayStation Home avatar threads
  • early access of the demo on May 7
Ok, not so much as cool as Kratos' Blades of Chaos, but that looks wicked cool still.

The PlayStation Blog didn't mention if these items will be exclusively kept only for those who pre-order or if they will release these as DLC some time in the future (especially the demo). But damn, you guys better get a move on if you plan to place a pre-order. Sucker Punch Productions is promising more surprises next week too!

» this game looks alright

im just gonna stick to prototype the game instead of this one. They both seem very similar but i like the gameplay videos of prototype more. Maybe thats why its getting released earlier.

» rush to get out?

hmmm... could this be a reaction to prototypes June release date? Hope they are not rushing the game out unfinished just to get it on sale before prototype.
