Incog transformed Warhawk into multiplayer-only PSN game? |
Ó
The development process of Incognito Inc's Warhawk has become an interesting one. It would be remembered that there were a lot of rumors before saying that the game was cancelled. It was a good thing though that Three Speech confirmed last month that the green light is still on for this flight action title.
Now there's this another rumor about the game. It's supposedly not going to be a full retail game, meaning it can be downloaded via the Sony's live network">PlayStation Network. Gaming site 1UP's Sam Kennedy mentioned that he met with Incog in Salt Lake City and found out some interesting stuff about the game.
Kennedy reported that Warhawk can, in fact, be downloaded from PSN. To make things more interesting, Kennedy added that Incog decided to make it multiplayer-only as well. He then shared,
It's interesting, because I know a lot of people's perception of the game will change once they hear it's downloadable over PSN as opposed to being a full retail game. It shouldn't. I believe this could actually become a great demonstration of what Sony has in store for us with downloadable games.
Well, we're not too certain about this one yet. But in the event that Kennedy is correct, we would like to know how do you find Warhawk now. While the changes are quite interesting, it is obvious that Incog implemented cuts. Do you think it had problems with development?

I Want it.
Ill wait to see if this is true and more about the game before deciding what to think.
This would be awesome if it's true. Ican't wait to shoot some people down.
as long as they stick to the "No PSN downloadable will be more than $14.99" they quoted, bring warhawk on
massive multiplayer sixaxis control flying? and ground combat too? sounds great
i want a single player mode to.
The graphics in the trailer make it look like a PS2 game anyway. There was no way I would have forked over full-price for such nasty graphics. With the $15 price promise, if the gameplay is fun I might even buy it. This is definitely good news!
One of the things that really took me with this was the shear number of enemies that could be on screen. Unless im a bit out of touch with the world of multiplayer gaming i dont think this would properly be realised in a multiplayer game. I think a single player mode, even if it dosent really have a lot of story behind it, would still be better.
agreed. i'm a big fan of the ace combat series.
This game looks pretty cool on the flying scenes but I noticed in the trailer during ground combat, the characters looked awful. Multiplayer only sucks also. I wan't to take on missions with bosses. Also to download from the Playstation Network is going to be a pain seeing that if the game is big or something let alone hard drive space.
I really hope they put all of their resources into the flight and online portions of the game. I'd actually prefer to never have to play the disappointing-looking ground combat portion. The animations looked terribly awkward. If they polish what already looks breath-taking (that is, the flight portion) I think they could have a good game, if only as a
that price quote should make this a sweet addition to the network, and many users' game library.
