Unreal Engine 3 - Image 1Ignition Entertainment has announced that it has sealed a deal with Epic games to license the popular Unreal Engine 3 for its next project. Ignition Florida will be in charge of building the new IP and it's been revealed that the game is a next-generation FPS.

“Ignition Florida is pushing Unreal Engine 3 in a very exciting direction, especially in terms of environmental capabilities,” said Mark Rein, Vice President, Epic Games. “These guys have the chops to create some remarkable games, and we have complete faith in their technical and creative abilities.”

This is the first game that Ignition Florida is developing for the newer consoles around, but the studio has already promised a ground-breaking experience. Given the highly competitive nature of the genre, we hope they're on to something big.

Ignition Entertainment has mostly worked on the Nintendo DS and the Sony PSP in the past, publishing games from its studios or international partners like SNK. We'll give you more updates as they come.
