In-game advertising giant IGA Worldwide has signed a deal with Activision Publishing to bring in-game ads to a bunch of titles slated for release on the Sony PlayStation 3 console.
If you guys remember, Sony announced earlier this year that they would be opening up the PS3 to in-game ads. Well, the ads are ready, and they've found a home: Guitar Hero: World Tour (Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii).
The PS3 version of the game will be the first result of the multi-year IGA-Activision deal. According to the announcement, the ads will be integrated into the titles "in a contextually relevant way". They'll be dynamic too, so they can be changed in real time.
The press release again spouted the "increase the realism" aspect that in-game ads are supposed to have, but then again, that's a pretty subjective thing. What's realistic for one person may be downright annoying to another. Well, as long as they don't distract us gamers too much, we could probably live with them.
