PSP Homebrew Snake - Image 1

Homebrew developer dragula96 has been on a coding spree as of late, unleashing the immortal Pong on the PlayStation 3, and now he's back with Snake which he quickly updated to version 1.1.

As you may know, this game will be about an ever-growing snake which eats up "apples" onscreen. You have to avoid running into borders or your own body to stay alive. Sounds simple, but it's a pretty challenging test of endurance.

These are the changes in version 1.1:
  • added snake head
  • added apple image
You can check out the source and the readme in the downloadable archive below. Go through them and have fun.

Nobody wants to play pong or snake on their PS3. These PS3 homebrew games are so stupid. Why waste time on these games?

» ye ye...

I want to play them and they are not so stupid as you think.... -_- Some gamers need big effects, full 3d, but sometimes small and old games are the best :) And if you are so disappointed maybe you should make some interesting game

» nevermind

nevermind, just saw this when i went to download the pong one...

"To start playing your first homebrew game on the PS3, just follow these simple instructions from the dev himself:

Just extract the and put the AVCHD folder and everything in it on USB pen drive root directory.

Then place USB pen drive on ps3, go to video and run the AVCHD folder.

The source has been included in the downloads, so feel free to examine it and see if it gives you any cool ideas. Please go through the readme before proceeding. Enjoy! "

hope he makes a 2player othello game next

» That's pretty cool.

And Snake was fun. I didn't try it on the PS3 yet, but the first time I played it was in TimeSplitters 2, when you could find hidden little game cartridges and play games on your little radar thingamabob. lol.

» Ok Drakon, but

whats the point on playing these games on a 170 Watt consuming PS3 ? Pixel blocks in FullHD ?

You should better download some Java game on your cellphone if you want to play this type of games

» Nice...

Excellent job. Works perfectly. Can't wait to hear some sounds in it. I'm excited to see what you come up with next.

» Agree with cizzar

This is hardly an exploit and I don't why everyone is making a big fuss over it...it's JAVA for feck's sakes...
