Open Remote Play - Image 1Dashhacker has finally released a Windows version of his Open Remote Play app. Now Windows users can get in on the fun and access their PS3s using their laptops or phones.

Along with the release of the Windows beta, Dashhacker also released an updated version of the Mac OS X API. Both releases are now at version 1.1, which features game launching, video scaling up to 2x, full screen mode, and a lot of bugfixes.

The Mac OS X release seems to work fine, but PS3-Hacks reports that the Windows API seems to have some issues when running under Windows Vista. Windows 7 (64bit) can run it fine, but you may have to resize the ORP window to see all of the buttons.

Be sure to check the readme file included in the downloads below for the installation and usage instructions. You can also find more info at the Open Remote Play Google Code project page. Please note that you need a homebrew-enabled PSP for this to work.

Hm i can't get it to work properly. I set it up like instructed and using the settings exported from my PSP but when I launch the thing I just get the PSP sized window with the Open Remote Play splash screen. The PS3 is set to Remote Play and at first seems to detect some change and says Remote Play In Progress but I never see anything on the PC and eventually the PS3 goes back to asking for a PSP.

I guess so...But as far as i have read...You could borrow one just to get your file from your ps3.

Never mind. Got it working. Forgot to import the keys file after the other one. Working very nicely now.

Can you make an iPod Touch and iPhone version of this? That would be sweet!

this is amazing, works like a charm, I tried to play pixeljunk monsters but unfortunately he hasn't implemented the start button yet so I couldn't get past the main menu screen

It runs at a usable speed here and my PC and internet connection ain't exactly the best money can buy. The menu sound stutters a little bit but I certainly am able to navigate the menus easily enough. It did crash when I tried running the PS1 game Crash Team Racing (which is a amusing given the name I suppose) but that's not unexpected from beta software. It's just pretty cool being able to access and view the PS3 on the PC.

is there a homebrew app for psp that lets you use the psp as a controller for your pc or something like that, using a usb or wireless? Does anything like that exist?
