Can't wait to get Home - Image 1Home Community Manager TedTheDeog of the PlayStation EU forums made a clarification as to his previous announcement on the Home Open Beta. Apparently, it's not coming out this month along with Firmware 2.50.

According to him, it was just a matter of wrong wording on his part, but actually, what he meant when he said that FW 2.50 will be bringing Home Open Beta is that "2.5 is bringing some fixes that Home needs and Open beta will be later this year after 2.5 is released."

So there you have it, folks. No Home Open beta when 2.5 lands. Instead, it's just gonna bring in bug fixes. We'll keep you updated on this one as more development arrives.

» Cool!

I just hope when they release the actual version of Home they fix a lot of issues. I also hope they implement more things that potentially could make Home an exciting hit like more places to visit, more interactivity with the Home environment, and lots of customizable extras. I hope they add the ability to have something like skateboards to quickly get from place to place in style instead of running like a stiff robot all the time.

» Or...

Customizable golf carts!!

» Total waste of time.

Home is turning into a waste of time now. They have been developing for ages. Every news article I see on the damn thing is just something about delays, or later in the quarter, or "have patients." ***** that. I seriously don't think home is going to be all that amazing. You would guess with all the delays that this should be the absolute best piece of software to come anyones way, but i'm almost certain it will collect dust or will get rarely used after the fun factor is over with--and that is probably only going to last a few months. Years of development just to sit in my xmb to be used now and then isn't worth downloading. I am a gamer, i'm not here to exchange lol's and rofl's with someone i'm not even sure about. Can anyone say predetory warnings? Pedephiles will be eating this up. Sony I sure hope you developed security to hinder that!

» Security.

Sony has said long ago that people will get their whole PS3 banned from the PSN if they try any of that pedophile stuff or break any major rules.

well im guessing that 2.50 is going to come out just a little bit after the official headset comes out because they said that there will be a feature on 2.50 that makes the headsets sound in HQ or something like that. so if this comes out after the firmware, that means that it might come out a litle bit after october 3rd which is the release date for the headset.

i recently got into the home beta. dont worry u guys are not missing out on too much. if u are not social ppl or have alot of friends that own a ps3 then it might not hold your interest for long. but it is in the beta yet so there isnt much to do or rather isnt in the complete form yet. as for releasing with 2.5 or not, they did say sometime this fall. which of course could turn into this winter and so on. i dunno when it will be released but they definately need to add more things to it and fix the bugs

» *yawns*

Home is garbage anyways. I can't believe they wasted money on this ***** when they could've been making more RPGs are making sure their exclusives don't get taken away. This just makes me want to go back to playing the 360.

by girandhistacos - 2008-10-01 20:18
» What?

What is with you people and giving a ***** about "exclusives"?

Who gives a damn about what system it's on as long as you get to play the game?

It doesn't matter if multiple systems have a specific game... there's always going to be people who prefer it on this console or that one.

by z0m13ie - 2008-10-02 00:12
» Ok.

But if home dissapoints me in any way, shape, or form, I'm going to sell my ps3.

They've had WAY more than enough of our time and patience. This game BETTER NOT BE A LET DOWN, OR BULLETS WILL BE FLYING. By bullets i mean my ps3 through the window of my closes GameStation store

does anybody know if this feature will still be added or is it in the beta home version now?

by na2rul - 2008-10-02 01:39
» a pair of skates would definitely do the job

or golf carts

or perhaps instant pop in with the aid of a pointer and a map

» Delay, delay, delay.

This is getting old

» Can't be too angry

I agree that this has taken way too long, my wife is tired of waiting-she just wants to play darts & bowling & whatnot, but I have been waiting just to see what else is offered too. But we can't be too angry about all the delays, considering that this is a FREE service-so complaining about how they're wasting all that time, yes that's true, but they also aren't getting paid back for it, either. So we should be happy that they are spending so much time on making it right, without any guarantee that they'll make anything on the extra's that I'm sure we'll be able to buy. So yes, I'm impatiently waiting, and not happy about the length of time they've been hyping it, but I'll also wait, knowing that its free, so even if it doesn't hold my attention long, I won't be mad about spending on it. Now I wish that sony would make some free PSN demos...you would call them arcade games on the 360 (which I also have & love, as well as my Wii) I don't want to shell out money on a game I may not like, but there is no demo's for them. C'mon Sony, do that!

by emcp - 2008-10-02 03:51
» mmm

time period

and time spent is totally different, i have no doubt in my mind that its being developed by lazy *****s

i normally say anything like this but, the game is simple taking out video support etc makes 10 times more simpler, theres nothing extradionary new here, is just the fact that its on the ps3, thats the only difference

by damonous - 2008-10-02 04:04
» It's NOT a Game

Oh, please. You're going to sell your PS3 because a *FREE SOCIAL NETWORKING UI* "let's you down"? Get a grip. It's not a game. They've said it can be used to *launch* a game, but they've never even implied that it's a "game". ---And even if it fell short of expectations, what's the alternative? --360's upcoming cutesy Mii-alikes intended for "hardcore gamers"? ...Yeah, right.

by Datnizzle - 2008-10-02 05:33
» Shut Up you Crybabies...

It's free. You don't have to download it. As a matter of fact why read this article, that's right... you must think we want to hear you complain. We don't.

By the way how long you been waiting for FF13, how long did we wait for MGS4 that game was announced about 2 years befor it came out, and it was awsome.

by PS3 OUTSIDER - 2008-10-02 08:21
» ok whatever

do you guys realy think sony are stupid if and when home finally comes out the only thing thats gonna be free will be the crapy small apartment the rest will be add ons you will have to pay for at the end of the day sony are just like any other big company there there to make money.

by TheDude - 2008-10-02 08:32
» uhh..

Don't know what Playstation store you're going to, but there are lots of demos to download for full games and PSN games. The Last Guy, Mega Man 9, and Bionic Commando are just a few off the top of my head.

I do hope Home gets released soon as I can't wait for more features and all of my friends to be in there. I'm still loving the beta though.

by Matt-N - 2008-10-02 09:50
» @z0m13ie

Who's going to buy your PS3 if you've thrown it through the window of your closest GameStation store?

by Matt-N - 2008-10-02 09:54

Agreed!
