Hideo Kojima not satisfied with Metal Gear Solid 4 |

Anticipation has reached fever pitch after Metal Gear Online beta codes were passed around, since that event marked the first step to Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots' much awaited release on the Sony PlayStation 3. However, it seems series creator Hideo Kojima of Kojima Productions himself is not stoked, saying the game fell short of what his team wanted to create."The original vision was to go ten steps further, the reality was just one step, which isn't to say we didn't progress," said Kojima in his latest interview with UK-based Edge magazine. He expressed his dissatisfaction in Metal Gear Solid 4, stating visuals and other technical aspects such as map size failed to accomplish his original vision.
Kojima looked back to when Metal Gear Solid 4's engine was revealed at the Tokyo Game Show - the time when his team thought of the Sony PS3 as a dream machine - and noted that the powerful console turned out to have restrictions. He then explained:
I remember saying three years ago that we wanted to create something revolutionary, but in reality we couldn't really do that because of the CPU. We're using the Cell engine to its limit., actually.
Please don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing the PS3 machine, it's just that we weren't really aware of what the full-spec PS3 offered - we were creating something we couldn't entirely see.

MGS3 came. "we pushed the PS2 to it's limits. it wont get any better than this". When tons of other games at the time had bigger areas in some cases and much better graphics.
Now he's talking about MGS4. And I guess Killzone 2 is using 300% of the cell. It's the only explanation.
Sorry Kojima, but you just don't want to admit that your engine is the problem, not the Cell.
