In an interview with Kikizo, Quantic Dream's founder, David Cage, recounted an instance when he met the awesome, larger than life Hideo Kojima. "Very interesting" was how he described the said meeting with the creator of one of the most successful icons in videogaming history, Solid Snake.

He did not go into the details of what the meeting was about, but he did reveal that he was "pleased" to learn that Kojima has heard of their company and of their much-anticipated title, Heavy Rain.

"I certainly respect his work, definitely, although it's not the type of game I want to make myself," referring to how Metal Gear Solid moves forward through cut scenes, while Heavy Rain progresses through gameplay. "But yeah he's a huge star, I guess."

Huge star. You got that right, don't worry.

After him complaining that he didnt max out on the PS3 as much as he wanted, I cant wait to see how he feels when hes got 8gb of data to work with on the 360 platform.

» well...

Disc space is but a small part of what a game has to deal with. Simply put a bunch of disc made up to act like one big on (swapping) could do the same job as one blu-ray... granted it's much more annoying... but it doesn't hurt the quality of the game from a technical stand point.

It's namely the processor and graphical card abilities along with the ram pushing it from one end to the other that really matters.

The 360 and PS3 have different ways of handling all of those things and that will be the challenge when moving from PS3 to 360.

theres always some1 who thinks they know more about how games should be made more than the devs themself........some1 always thinks their way of making a game is the best way yet never went through the complications of developing 1.........leave to the dev 2 work their magic

» uhm ok..

First off, MGS4 was somewhere around 30gb I believe (im not for sure on this), In which there was insane installs quite often on the PS3 platform. So what people try to brush off as "no big deal... storage doesnt matter" actually come to the realization that hey all the data that my GPU/CPU is pushing originates from my storage. That said, since not every 360 has a HDD, he cant even depend on that. So he has to make a game based on 8gb of data, perhaps multiple CDs, that cant be installed on an HDD. Now if you owned a PS3, you'd realize that with the heavy use of both of these on this console and not having these options for another console is going to be a great challenge for him.

@ houaruto

Who even said ANYTHING at all before your post about how games should be made?

Here's just one site to support the fact that disc space does matter.

Even though it only indicates audio on the site, still its going to be a HUGE impact on making it on the 360 platform. Without a HDD, and having to work on a slow DVD9 drive... I really don't see how this "doesn't matter much" when compared to a PS3 version. Just my opinion.
