Bayonetta - Image 1

I've heard of people whose sole purpose in life is to find a game hard enough to make their hands bleed. If you like a challenge, then you'll probably appreciate director Hideki Kamiya's efforts to be completely upfront with what gamers can expect from Bayonetta (aside from the magic hair and the gun boots):

For instance, with Bayonetta, we would hate for someone to think it is a heartwarming tale and then buy the game to discover it is really a sadistically hard game (I hopeÂ…) where you play as a witch who laughs as she destroys angelic enemies.

Now, question time: Does knowing that the devs are planning for Bayonetta to be sadistically hard make you, the gamer, hard want to buy it even more or did it just kill off any chance that you're gonna buy this game? Sound off in the comments section. Platinum Games and Sega are tracking a 2009 PS3 and Xbox 360 release for Bayonetta.

» not buy

but, then again, i'm a bad gamer. i'm not a huge, play all night for one level person so that statement turned me away. not gonna lie, for some reason, frustration in video games will sometimes make me hard...don't know why

» I love hard games

I remember when Devil May Cry 3 came out and everybody was like "It's so hard", which it was hard, especially given the myriads of difficulty settings the game had. I just loved that, I hope this game is like that. On the other hand I'd hate if it's like one of these games that's hard because it's luck based, like the final bosses in so many games lately.

» yea this just said dont even download demo

this game is gonna be horrible i can already see it. Im pretty sure people are tired of devil may cry type games coming out and it ends up being dynasty warriors and you just button smash over and over same bad guy over and over. Plus if the main character is a girl then it sucks, their is no game where the main character is a female and it was real good exception is resident evil. Tomb raider sucks uncharted drakes furtune is much better. I am also 90% sure all gamers out their dont have a single tittle in their library where the main character is a female.

» interesting.

Even though the game just seems like a Devil May Cry/Ninja Gaiden ripoff, the difficulty won't matter if the game sucks. I don't even like the premise of the game already. Highly doubt I'll touch it, but meh.

» There are plenty of good games starting females.

So by your logic, if the game has a heroine instead of a hero its horrible? There are plenty of arguably good games staring woman. Alice, Beyond good and Evil, Eternal Darkness, Fatal Frame, Final fantasy VI and X-2, Metroid, The Misadventures of Tron Bonne, Odin Sphere, Parasite Eve, Perfect Dark, Portal, and Xenosaga, just to name a few! To say that the games staring females are bad is ignorant and stupid.

» Um

I was mentioning *good* games. ^^; Giant breast exploring doesn't count as one of them, as he said, Drakes Fortune is already better. And hotter for that matter. ;) I suppose since Crystal Dynamics has been making Tomb Raider the games have gotta better, but I'd prefer it if they went back to making Legacy of Kain.

"sadistically hard"

or is it "hardly sadistic" ? :>

hard games are good. each game should be a challenge. well, maybe it should not be totally impossible, but still...

» hm

I very much enjoyed Heavenly Sword and that's got a female lead.

I agree Uncharted is far, far superior to the awful Tomb Raider series though.

» Sounds good

Hopefully it won't be difficult for the wrong reasons, like bad controlls for instance. I'll keep my eye on it.

» just a note

I love how people claim this game is a NG/DMC ripoff, considering I've heard the same argument for God of War being the same thing. >_>

At any rate, the so called "hard" part depends. If it is DMC3 hard, then yea it's going to give you a challenge, if it's DMC4 hard, then it's not going to be difficult and easy to play.

As for me playing it, that depends how the reception comes off reviews.
