Hidden features in PS3 firmware 2.0

Austrian website Starseven has uncovered a few more features of the recently-released PlayStation 3 firmware 2.0 that didn't quite get included in the official Sony press releases. Here they are:

- Trailers can be streamed during download from the PlayStation Store
- Faster loading times for the Internet Browser and PlayStation Store
- Demos, PS1 games and downloaded games can be sorted in folders
- A new Video-Chat

There's also supposedly a new Flash player update included in firmware 2.0, but reports from those who updated indicate that it may not be included after all. Starseven also lists an untested support feature for Canon printers. Check back here for more updates.

I don't know what they did or what I did but after the ps3 turn on and off alone several times the remote play works more than perfect.

About the streaming thing I didn't know it I will try it now and the new chat just looks awsome. The loading times about the browser I don't see the dfference but if they say it it's must be true I guess...

anyone know what they are talking about with new video chat? the current one kinda sucks. seems to have no echo cancellation so when you are using 2 ps eyes to chat (built in mics) you end up with lots of feed back and echoing.

It looks pretty cool. everything flows more with this update. the look of ps3 is so sexy compared to xbox

These features are NOT hidden nor was it the Austrian website Starseven that found them.

These features have been available in the changelog since the release of FW 2.00

- New grouping options for the [Group Content] feature have been added to the options menu.

- You can now select Canon printers with the [Printer Selection] option under [Printer Settings].

- You can now view video content (as a progressive download) as it is being downloaded from PLAYSTATION®Sto re.

- You can now use the PLAYSTATION®Eye camera for voice / video chat.

- The voice/video chat menu has been changed.

- [Colour], [Background] and [Font] have been added as options under [Theme Settings].

- You can now select [Brightness] as an option under [Theme Settings] > [Background].

- The process for setting [Internet Connection Settings] under [Network Settings] has been changed.

- [Trend Micro Web Security for PS3™] has been added as a security option under the Internet browser.

- You can now customise the PLAYSTATION®3 Home Menu icons or background design.

- You can now create playlists to organise content under [Music] and [Photo].

- [Information Board] has been added as a feature under [Network]. PlayStation® related news can be displayed on the PLAYSTATION®3 Home Menu.

- [PLAYSTATION®Ne twork] has been added as a category in the PLAYSTATION®3 Home Menu.

- [Remote Start] has been added as an option under [Remote Play Settings].

A PLAYSTATION®3 system in standby mode can be turned on from a PSP® (PlayStation®Po rtable) system used for remote play via the Internet (Wake On LAN).

- [Vibration Function] has been added as an option under [Controller Settings] in the menu that appears when you press the PS button on the wireless controller.

ok i never noticed this but i think it might be because of the 2.0 update. when you go and play music. press the ps button and enter the internet. you can listen to music on their... could someone confirm this because i dont know its its because of the update or its always been their and i just noticed it
