Heavy Rain graphics "even better" than Uncharted 2

Well, everyone's buzzing about it. The final code of Sony's Heavy Rain has landed, and what do you know, it's said to be "even better" than Uncharted 2's. Now that's a lofty claim to make, but from the looks of it, it just may all be true.

NextGN seconds this bold press release, saying that it is "probably the most photo-realistic game to be available on console to date." The images are so detailed and crisp that you can see every nook and cranny on the characters' faces, from frecles to pores, wrinkles and scars.

That's definitely something to look forward to! Heavy Rain is set to come out on February 23, 2010, and then we can all be the judge.

although it "may" look good, it would take one hell of a game to top uncharted 2. everything in that game was just amazing from the graphics to the gameplay to the soryline and even the voice actors. it was such a well thought out game and for me it was a complete surprise. heavy rain might have the looks, but i highly doubt it will match the playability of uncharted 2. the more i see of it the more unimpressed i become.

It's more of an interactive movie than a game.

I don't know what you're referring to when you say "playability", but the way it plays out is that you only make choices or interact with the environment, nothing else.

There are real filmmakers in the studio developing this game.

If anything, it'll have a much more cinematic feel, and certainly better voice acting than Uncharted 2.

I played Indigo Prophecy (Fahrenheit in Europe) on PC which was also made by the Company making Heavy Rain and it seems they have similar controls. I played the game on my PC with my ps3 controller and it honstestly wasn't difficult... you press buttons in a sequence and rotate the joystick, walk around a bit. The game is more about the story and in this case, the graphics. I believe I read somewhere that it's like an interactive movie which is cool. I found Indigo Prophecy to have a fantastic story.

haha yea simple, fun, and god damn nice story to get sucked into... now its actually on ps3 and even better... SWEET!

I think that they are talking about overall experience, including cinematics, we still have to wait the game to say something about it.

I was playing the demo just now and all i can say is that the article really tells the truth. The graphics really has no match.

Well they must've made improvements to the graphics then. Because the demo really doesn't look better than UC2 (imo).

But the game has a very unique style and I'm really interested in the story, so I don't really care if it has better graphics or not.

So far none of the videos or screens has impressed me or shown anything better than Uncharted 2.

Why is it so hard for people to understand that Heavy Rain looks better?

It's only common sense.

With Uncharted the CPU has to process animations, AI, effects, and other game logic in real-time.

The way Heavy Rain plays out allows the developers to pull off trickeries and cut some corners without sacrificing anything, allowing them more freedom with the visuals and shaders.

When I read comments like "Uncharted still looks better IMO" I bash my head into my desk.

Technically speaking, there is no reason for Uncharted to look more photorealistic than Heavy Rain.

I just don't comprehend how these people think they can post their subjective views without reason, or providing insight as to why they think the way they do, and then expect everyone else to take them seriously.

Are you people really this out of touch with reality? It scares me.

Almost reminds me of the assholes who claim that Uncharted looks more photorealistic than Crysis.
