The latest scoop in Hollywood is that Warner Bros., the film studio backing the Hollywood adaptation of Quantic Dream's action-adventure title, Heavy Rain, has called for the fast track of its production.

David Milch, so Variety reports, will be heading screenwriting team for big-screen adaptation. He has worked previously on TV shows Deadwood and NYPD Blue as writer. Meanwhile, Unique Features is the tapped film producer, who is also founded by Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne. These two only happen to be the producers of the epic trilogy of Lord of the Rings under New Line Cinema.

it is sad to read such story, David Cage him said before the game was out that Heavy Rain (HR) was a merger between cinema and video game meaning it was better than both.
Worst is, I kind of agree with him, HR is a great game and a great experiment, it's a one of a kind project.
HR doesn't need a movie, it will spoil the very spirit of the project. but maybe quantic dream needed it?

PS : i really hate the new article cut, why 2 or 3 pages???

As a movie I think it may be a hit but it will be lacking content wise compared to the game. Also what will be the plot chosen for the movie?

P.S. what's that about mixed reviews? most reviews of the game were very good. It wasn't that successful at retail, but it was mostly because people were confused about the gameplay. I think this game deserves a spot on the "hall of fame" of video games.
