Outspoken video game developer and Silicon Knights founder Denis Dyack has opinions. Lots of them. At the Develop Conference in Brighton, Dyack turned his eye onto Quantic Dream's PS3 exclusive, Heavy Rain. His analysis? It could turn out to be one fantastic game.

"They're really trying to break some of the uncanny valley issues that you find in video games," he told VideoGamer.com. "

I think what they appear to be striving for is really good. I don't think that everyone should do that. I remember leaving the film A Million Dollar Baby (sic) and thinking, that's so emotionally riveting for me that I want to be able to create a video game that does the same thing. If that's what they're striving to do, whatever technique they use, whether it be the cinema or the quick time events, I think that's a good thing.

Now, doing it in such a way that doesn't frustrate the player so he doesn't feel like he's just watching or playing something like Dragon's Lair, that's the trick. So, I would love to see that. I would love to see something interactive that was just as moving as A Million Dollar Baby. If they're able to do that, that would be fantastic. I think what they're driving for appears to be the right direction.

Dyack has made some controversial comments in the past, but I'm right there with him on this one. Heavy Rain does look good, and hopefully the delayed release will only further enhance the game experience.

» Quite honestly.

It's characters and the story they go through that really matters... not the way in which it plays. QD has proven that they know this and are on track to deliver it in a new way, which is very exciting.

Million Dollar Baby tho? I didn't care much for that movie. Click, as silly as it sounds may be the only movie that nearly brought me to tears. There's just something about sandler's last reach out to his son in the end of the movie that just set me off.

Also, in Shadow of the Colossus... when the ahem

**POSSIBLE SPOILER***

Your horse doesn't make it over the jump on the massive cliff... I had to turn the game off cuz it upset me so. My companion for the whole game... just gone! Ack. *Shutters.

You know honestly I still don't know what the hypes all about for this game? Is the story or something like that good? Like FFXIII is really hyped but you know it's Final Fantasy and you've already seen trailers and game play.

You've seen game of this game but that wasn't too impressive. What's the story about this game about anyways?

We'll have to wait and see. This game has potential to be great, but just as much potential to completely suck.
