Heavenly Sword's heavenly factsheet |
Ó
Currently being developed by Ninja Theory Ltd, the action-adventure game Heavenly Sword for the PS3 will follow heroine Nariko's quest for vengeance against an invading King and his army. At the heart of the drama lies the ancient Heavenly Sword, which was once owned by a powerful deity, and can never be used by a mortal without killing the holder by draining their life-force -- all within a matter of hours. When the invading King wipes out the warrior clan that guards the Heavenly Sword, including Nariko's father, our red-haired heroine decides to take matters into her own hands as she dares to take up the sword in a fight for survival and seek vengeance against the King before the sword takes her own life.
To take on the role of the invading King Botan is Andy Serkis, the world's leading CG actor, who has also played the famous roles of Gollum in The Lord of the Rings, and Kong in "King Kong". Aside from lending his voice talents to the game, Serkis was also a major contributor to the writing, casting, directing, character development, and performance capture for Heavenly Sword on the PS3. Here are the key combat features of Heavenly Sword:
- The Heavenly Sword itself can transform into three distinct stances which players can switch between on the fly allowing players to create their own fighting styles.
- The combat engine can scale up from one-on-one encounters to one-on-many, where enemies employ intelligent squad-based dynamics, right up to combat against battalions pushing real-time gameplay and AI to new levels.
- Physics-based combat where you can sweep debris against opponents, kick tables, smash the enemy into the scenery or throw bodies into other enemies using aftertouch controls.
- Wide range of objects and weaponry, which include spears and bazookas.
- Creative in-game cinematography coupled with real-time story evolvement and set-pieces makes the action feel like an action movie, taking combat gameplay to new heights.

wohoo I'm firs
Everybody must be working. Anyhoot, I already have this game on preorder along with Resistance & Assasins Creed. I loved this game from the first time I heard about it and it just keeps getting better and better. Imagine a coop battle with Princess Nariko and Cratos. Now that would be s**t.
I've read this is basically like a female-fronted God Of War. I loved that game so I'm not necessarily complaining and it sounds fun, but I didn't think GoW had high replay value at all.
You're WRONG!
