Haze developer using a rumble SIXAXIS?

What we have below is one of those developer diary videos for the upcoming video game Haze. It features Free Radical Creative Director Derek Littlewood along with the development studio's other staff members and Haze demo which was released during the recently concluded Ubisoft's Gamers Day.

Basically, the video clip is about how Free Radical is polishing the said demo and how Haze is coming along in terms of development. Quite curiously, there was a portion in the video clip (around the 10-minute mark) where one of the coders was shown holding a PlayStation 3 controller that is blurred out.

Now, this then gave rise to rumors that the controller at the coder's hand is no other than the much-talked about rumble-enabled SIXAXIS. Despite this, however, we have to keep in mind that the video clip we're talking about was taken back in May so we honestly doubt it.

We're sharing you the video now just in case you want to have a look for yourself. It would be nice though if the rumors turn out to be true.

maybe

I certainly hope that we get this mistery solved in the comming E3
by Mister Common Sense - 2007-07-09 11:58:54
mystery solved

The controller portion is blurred out because he is giving the camera the finger. Aparently he's pissed he has to develop on the cell, and few people will buy his game.

What if they blurred out

the keyboard. Will people start predicting.. "You can use your keyboard with the game?"
by - 2007-07-09 12:10:34

Wasn't it you that said a couple of weeks ago that you were jealous of PS3 owners because we get the game a couple of months earlier than you. Besides he doesn't look angry he looks happy. Well I guess I'll be finishing this with the standard go f.u.c.k yourself at the end.
by - 2007-07-09 12:45:14
I'm sorry I couldn't hear you over your noisy/overheating 360

With a failure rate of 30% I'm not sure why you Xboys are still chirping the PS3. Jealous that Sony built a tough console and decided to charge you another 100 bucks for something that won't have to be sent in numerous times for repair ? Or are you jealous that this is becoming a timed PS3 exclusive ? Sounds like the guys are enjoying working on "the cell" rather than working on an Xbox 1.5 :D. Count it.
by - 2007-07-09 13:25:18
Ermm..

That wasnt blur thats glare from the window right behind him,
by - 2007-07-09 13:35:17
blurred

it's blurred because it's the devkit controller lol
by - 2007-07-09 14:44:58
ok..

I think its blurred out because its not an official PS3 controller. its probably some 3rd party one that fits better in the dev's hand. if you look at his desk, theres another controller sitting there, obviously not a PS3 one.

Wow nice try at being funny

Don't judge a console without even playing and actually owning one. When will Fanboys grow up?

Rumble Obsession

Why is QJ so obsessed with the rumble controller. I'd guess it will come at some point. So ? I won't replace my three SIXAXIS because of it. Might buy one or two more. Its, however funny, how QJ makes out its own story from another site without any background info. .. man calm down.
by - 2007-07-09 17:24:41
hahaha

funny. But yea this is a pretty-looking game
by - 2007-07-09 18:20:35
2+2=5!

The first time I watched it, I thought it was just a devkit controller blurred out, but why blur out a wired ps3 pad! I mean, so what! I cant imagine a rumble pad is out for devs at this time, there would be pictures of the pad and quad-shock (or whatever they call it) logos on the web by now, so after abit of thought Im thinking they just dont want you to know what the buttons do in the game yet.

MCS go play your x360 fanboi n00b HAZE Pwns! all
by - 2007-07-09 22:04:00
lmfao

No, he was probably giving YOU the finger. :P And if you're competent, developing on the Cell is not as hard as you say it is. But hey, you - with zero prior background experience and knowledge of computer programming - are obviously more qualified to determine how hard it is than people who do it for a living. XD
by - 2007-07-09 22:06:34
lol

Actually, with the recent price drop, the $499 60GB PS3 (with five free Blu-ray movies, nontheless), is officially cheaper than the 360 Elite bundle (you get an extra controller and battery, in case, you know, your primary controller battery dies and you were too cheap to buy the charge and play kit)
by - 2007-07-09 22:11:30
umm

no thats not true because during the video at other parts where they where playing the game, and showing the controller at the same time, they didnt blur it out....its obviously not because they dont want you to see the controller....
by - 2007-07-10 00:31:22
LOL i hate MCS but that was funny

lmfao rofl

Haze Will Rock ( i hope )

My 2cents is, haze will be an awesome game + well done Ubisoft for starting with the PS3 first. Later you can downgrade it 4 release on the 360. BRING ON KILLZONE2
by - 2007-07-10 04:25:43

Sup gangstas! lol

Is free radical in UK? They all(almost) got Essex accent.
by - 2007-07-10 07:51:51
UK saves Sony again!

Free radical is in the UK, I dont know if there from Essex but you can see a black BMW in the carpark with a UK plate. These are the boys who worked on Golden Eye and Timesplitters so get ready for a great game. I have been banging on about Crysis is going to be the best FPS this year for ages now but ... a game with Crysis like graphics and 4 player coop, I know where my money is going!
by Darth Manson - 2007-07-10 08:27:09
...

too bad you don't get cables tho...
by - 2007-07-10 10:00:12
God... I must be bored!

To me it just made sense blurring the buttons so you cant see what he is pressing because when you see the controller in his hand (not blurred)he is not playing the game just holding it chatting and when he is playing the demo with the guys you dont see the pad and the screen clearly to make out want he is doing, so it dont need to be blurred out. Why isnt the white PS pad sitting at the feet on the guy with the white T-shirt playing the demo and the bright yellow pad sitting on the desk near the end of the vid. blurred out, just the pad what is in their hands get blurred. (((maybe the black pad is a new Xbox360 pad like how the Elite is a clone of the PS3!)))
by - 2007-07-10 11:06:49
then..

I'd come in say: "IMAO your are all n00bs, game testers use emulators on computers to test the game so go f-u-c-k yourselves" lol
by - 2007-07-10 12:07:43
the truth

The reason I am so pissy against the PS3 is because I am poor and I cannot buy one. I admit that I am one of the world's biggest jackasses. This is my last post in the PS3 section. Goodbye.
