Harmonix admits Rock Band guitar failures, fix in the works |
Ó
Fans voiced out, and Harmonix wasted no time to address guitar controller problems many people are experiencing when playing Rock Band (Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3). Through a post on the official community forums, Harmonix admitted that strum bars of early guitars are "imperfect."Here's a snippet of the forum post:
Many of you have contacted us regarding your guitar controllers. As sometimes happens when new products first go into manufacturing, we discovered an imperfection with the strum bar in an early production run of guitars that were shipped at launch.
Aside from guitars not registering or doubling strums, Harmonix took note of compatibility issues involving the PS3 version of Rock Band. "These issues have our full attention," said Harmonix, before asking consumers for patience while developers sort things out.

I think the Bass pedals are much worse. They're fixing those too right?
Either way, I'm waiting until 50 days after I bought it then sending my guitar back as well. I don't want a piece of crap strum bar, even though I haven't had any problems yet.
Are you having issues with yours? I actually thought those weren't half bad...but the guitar is...yea...feels like it's gonna break in your hands. I was planning to do the same as you, wait awhile, then send it in.
My bass pedal broke clean off right at the hinge. On th EA website they have 2 options for replacment. The quicker one is they send you a new one via 2 day shipping (or so they claim) then you send the old one back in the prepaid package they send. You also have to give them credit card info and if you don't send the old one back in 28 days they charge the credit card $145.
The other option is they send the new one after they recieve the old one, which would take several weeks.
I only had problems with the guitar on the fast notes, but I have noticed it's not as sensitive as it was new.
.....because BETA TESTING your product is unheard of!!!
I just want to know if they are going to make the GH3 guitar compatible.
On the XBOX 360 it already is. On the PS3, they're supposedly working on it. Who knows how that could be done at this point.
Wouldn't that suck if you just bought the PS3 game and found the GH3 guitar doesn't work with it and the game is unplayable....
This reminds me of Guitar Hero 2s launch and the crappy guitars that came out of that. Harmonix has a serious issue with quality, and I'm scared to buying Rock Band. Good thing we cant buy it in Canada yet, I probably would buy it the second I saw it in stores. Looks so damn fun.
