Hardcore pr0n: the PS3 box contents are divulged |
Ó
Some of you might be having seizures and Sony-gasms by just these first two pics above. This is as hardcore as internet pr0n gets! Here's IGN's boxed prototype of the PS3 - the actual retail packaging can be seen here - and they're taking us every step of the way as they unpack the holiest of grails.
One by one, the contents are revealed. PS3 console: check. Controller: check. USB cord: check. AV cable, LAN cable, power cable: check, check, check. Err.. but what's that other cable on the lower right (of the top-left pic)? Is it the HDMI cable? But wasn't it said that it was to come separately? If it is the HDMI, maybe it was just a complimentary freebie. And of course, the team also got copies of some launch titles: Lair, Genji: Days of the Blade, Resistance: Fall of Man, and two MotorStorms.
Bah! Less talking, more ogling!

It's juvenile at best, and hardly funny.
It's like a fart joke. Sure, it's funny. Until your 10. Then you have better outlets of humor.

Its just that when burned they use different booktypes to show its a CD-R/DVD-R HD DVD-R BD-R or just the same without the R.
Games get burned with a special burner. Its special enough that it can burn data that cant be read from a normal DVD drive. thats why burned games dont work on un-modded systems besides the dreamcast.
You can buy silver bottom CD-Rs, Gold Bottom DVD-Rs and the such and burn to them with normal burners. But the difference is the machine used to burn them, if someone by chance got one of the sony production burners, they could use regular DVD-Rs that you buy in stores to burn games that work on a un-modded PS2.
The only difference between what IGN was sent and retail, is they used regular medium and didnt print any label on it.

Didn't think so.
Point in case:
It's juvenile at best, and hardly funny.
It's like a fart joke. Sure, it's funny. Until you're 10. Then you have better outlets of humor.
Wow, did I just repeat myself? That does seem to be the case.

The Japanese PS3 is out 11th November and neither model will come with an HDMI lead, there or anywhere else, unless Sony does a special bundle.
