Bad news to those who were looking forward to a late-year release for Half Life 2: Episode 2. But at least we have new videos of the game.

Talking to Eurogamer at the Leipzig Games Convention, Valve's Doug Lombardi announced that the release of HL2 Ep. 2 and its associated games Team Fortress 2 and Portal would be delayed 'til February of next year. He puts the delay down to "Valve being overly aggressive on our dates." He assures fans that "we're really far along in the playtest stage," though.

Patience, boys. All good things come to those who wait. "You know, our thing is always that weÂ’re trying to make really good experiences and so weÂ’re going to manage to that rather than the schedule," says Lombardi.

Well then, until we get our hands on the game next year, how about a few videos of the game in action from Leipzig, courtesy of Hypnosos.

Portal

Portal is currently finished, serveral people have been given tours of Valve were they got to play through the entire portal game. Episode 2 just needs more work, and trust me, its going to be 100 times better than episode 1. TF2 will probably be finished by November but since Ep2 is delayed that also delays portal and TF2. Steam users will probably get Portal and TF2 early through preorders im sure. Sort of like CSS being released a month and a half before hl2 back in 2004.
