GunCon 3 for the PS3 works like the Wiimote |

Okay, in our previous report on Namco's GunCon 3 accessory for the PS3, several of you folks wondered in the comments if the product will come in black or orange. Well, here's something that may disappoint some of you. Wired's Chris Kohler reports that US and EU will get the orange gun shown in the images we gave you. Japan gets the black gun. Also, some of you were wondering if it'll work with LCDs, well, here's some positive news for you folks: the gun works by placing markers on the left and right side of your TV. A camera in the GunCon 3 should be able to detect the position of the markers use them to figure out what you're targeting. So, just like the Wiimote, any type of screen should work.
It was also revealed that there are six buttons on the device and two analog sticks, one of which is placed in the sub-grip that you can hold with your left hand. The second stick is in the barrel of the gun. It wasn't made clear though as to how these analog sticks will work with Time Crisis 4 on the PlayStation 3. We'll update you as soon as we have more info.

One of the analog sticks is for walking in the firstperson levels.
A FTS with a proper gun and the possibility to move around with the analog sticks, that will be excellent !!! Can't wait to try that one ;)
I hate FPS on consoles(only on PC), but I might try it with the guncon.
From the screens ive seen it looks like the grip part of the guncon is Bulky and put out to the side? to move would you be required to use two hands or can you ghetto blast ?

Why did they have to make it orange again, dam American toy gun legislations. Making us make it have a orange tip or an entirely orange body.
the wiimote isn't 1 to 1 on screen.... thats why you always have a cursor, kinda a step back from lightguns that allowed you to aim with the gun instead of having crosshairs huh...
it figures. . . . the only way that the ps3 can be good that it copy's off of others, there making a gun atachment for the wii controller or its already out. the point is , it looks like the ps3 can have good fps only if it copy's the wii. i know all the lame comebacks so dont start it, you know im correct and if you do well your stupid.
Maybe it's just me, but perhaps the orange colors is a countermeasure against criminal elements who might try to pass of the GunCon as a real weapon for robberies. Japan's getting away with a black frame probably because they've got far stricter gun laws, and don't have to worry as much about loose firearms.

New technology doesnt make its way into the gaming industry. It makes its way into the military. Every video game "innovation" are all exploits of military patents, usually no less than 10 years old. Nintendo didnt come up with anything new for their product. Sony may have copied someone, but it sure wasnt Nintendo.

I want to see your proof of this claim, especially because you used the phrase "every video game innovation". Show me how the military is using Guitar Hero controllers, dance pads, or even the more likely stuff.
The guncon has been out since the friggin PS1 so stfu you friggin dumbass. Go do so research before you speak, lightgun technology is far better than your wiimote.
