GTA IV steady for October, episodes to follow in 2008 - Image 1

Despite the heavy overhauling that Take-Two Interactive will be subjecting themselves to until the end of fiscal year 2008, Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto IV (for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360) has still been reaffirmed for release by October as previously announced. The company announced their lineup of games for the Q3 and Q4 of their 2007 fiscal year, after reporting a US$ 60 million dip in sales for their Q2.

Troublesome news also ran amok that Take-Two Interactive is seeing lay-offs due to its announced "restructuring program," designed to make the company financially disciplined in game development - a partial reaction to the company's stock options controversy sparked last year.

According to GTA4.net, however, none of the restructuring should affect GTA IV and its succeeding episodes as they have been officially listed in the company's release lineup for their respective periods. That, however, comes with some disappointing news. A question raised at the company's recent conference call pinned a no-go for a PS2 version of the game.

Other developments taken from the conference include non-identical versions between the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, despite claims that there are no platform preferences used in developing the game. News about the two additional episodes with more gameplay hours and content, both of which have been slated for release by 2008, have also stemmed from the conference.

Way to quote out of context, tard.

The quote is "Xbox 360's controller offers better control on vehicle acceleration with its right trigger"

And yes, X360's controller is better :P, but that's just my opinion
