GTA 4 episodic content coming in 2008 |

We don't have a lot of info to give out to you guys today, but this certainly does qualify as Grand Theft Auto IV news. According to CVG, a recent Take-Two Interactive financial report has confirmed that Rockstar's previously announced episodic content for GTA IV will begin trickling out in 2008.Episodic content has certainly made its presence felt in the videogaming market recently, and Rockstar's certainly not the first company to take advantage of it. While there are risks in releasing episodic content - episodic game gets first few releases, game doesn't sell well enough for the publisher, game gets canned, gamers are left with an unfinished game that they paid good money for - it's highly unlikely that the same scenario could happen to something as popular as the GTA franchise.
The same report also reaffirmed that both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game will release simultaneously. There's still no word on whether or not the latest iteration in the GTA series will use the Euphoria engine, but keep checking here on QJ for more details as they surface.

i thought GTA IV episodic content was exclusive 2 XBOX 360. does ne1 know if the PS3 will get the same of different content. i'll probably get the PS3 if it has different content : )
yeah they both get different episodic content it is not exclusive to the 360
They are each getting exclusive content. It will be different for both platforms. It was very cheeky from Rockstar. I'm sure both MS and Sony paid to have exclusive content only to find out they will both be getting an equal amount of content across both platforms.

I hate episodic games
probably they sell a single game plus some downlodable mission.
Episodic content as seen with HL2 and SIN sucks. You play a small 4 hour portion every 8 months, and it gets lame having to wait after a crappy cliffhanger ending in each episode. The consumers have spoken, episodic content is crap. But it sounds to me GTA4 is different, just has added mission and crap which isn't episodic.
But maybe this "episodic" content is to make up for lack of disk space on the 360? Actually, I'll put my money on that, seeing as how Mass Effect has filled one whole dvd already. What sucks is that the PS3 version will have to be gimped as well. *sigh*

the same engine they used for table tennis. And I suppose they meant episodic because they do not want to release too much engine, instead, they will simply use the same world again and again and boosting the size every time :D so If they make 3 games on the R.A.G.E. engine they will upgrade the map 3 time, so it'll be BBBBIIIIIIGGGG at the end, BUT the story will surely differ and the stories will be exclusive to each title! that's how you make great episodic content, by giving even more for your bucks instead to giving less too many times! :D viva GTA! :D

Rockstar has said nothing about using the R.A.G.E. Engine in GTA IV, please don't say it like it's a fact. I'm not even going to comment on the rest of your post since I didn't really understand it. Please rewrite it in proper English.
