GT 5 Prologue not really 1080p?

GT5 Prologue - Image 1

Some people familiar with high-resolution graphics technology have noted that Gran Turismo 5 Prologue may not actually be a 1080p title as it uses upscaling techniques to its advantage. Some conclude that the visuals are about 50 percent upscaled, which is less than Gran Turismo HD's which was released earlier  by Polyphonic Digital.

"GT5 Prologue demo is 1280x1080p (yamauchi know than in car game the vertical resolution is the most important for the visibility) but with MSAA 2x now! it's a very good Compromise they also very Improved the display of grills and electric wires and aliasing problems (compare electric wires in GT-HD and in this demo, it's big big gap), the texture filtering is very clean and the HDR lighting is awesome! all this in 60fps with 16 photorealistics cars, it's Impressive!" comments one Beyond 3D user.

Got all that? If not, that's just fine. People can live without knowing these figures and details. If Gran Turismo 5 Prologue looks good to you, that will be all the reason you'll need to be impressed. Bottom line, worrying less about the resolution lets you enjoy Gran Turismo 5 from Polyphony Digital more.

I'm playing it and it is the best looking car game. its still one of a few games that run at this res and frames. i know some 360 games that run in 60 frames and in 1080 but upscaled and no were near this res.

1280X1080p still a higher resolution than standard 720p or upscaled 1080p. Not the mention that the game already looks gorgeous.

Besides it might just be the demo that's like that, maybe to save space?
