GridNetworks Announces Support for GridCast TV on PlayStation 3 - Image 1GridNetworks has announced that the PlayStation 3 now supports GridCast TV, a service that already launched for the Xbox 360.

GridCast TV allows media providers to stream their video content to your TV, taking advantage of the UPnP tech found in the PlayStation 3. Some of the service's video-content providers include Revision3, IndieFlix, and Havoc TV.

No pricing has been finalized yet, but word is they're looking at per-usage rates - probably pay per view or by the minute. While it's not exactly a substitute for cable, a streaming video service on my console is welcome, though I'll still probably spend more time on the PlayStation Store than anything.
