Following yesterday's announcement of Rock Band 3, MTV Games and Harmonix have given the upcoming Green Day: Rock Band a June release date.
The full standalone music game focusing on the multi-platinum selling and Grammy-winning group Green Day will launch worldwide on June 8, 2010. It will be available on PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii.
The game features the three-part vocal harmony system in The Beatles: Rock Band and will ship with 47 tracks that can be exported to Rock Band 1, 2, and 3. The Green Day DLC already available in the Rock Band Music Store can be played in Green Day: Rock Band.

Why not just download Green Day tracks???
The game itself would have to add something major to how the game works in order to sell me on the idea.

Still, if it's got all of their songs that I like, it's priced less than a full game, and it exports to RB2, I'll probably pick it up. If it's the same deal as Lego ($50 for the game $10 for the export license) then I'll wait til the price goes down.

The first Rock Band game I bought was The Beatles: Rock Band and I am a fan of Green Day so I'll probably be buying this if I have the money. Guitar Hero on the other hand...I wonder how many of those they'll make this year? haha Wasn't it like 4 or 5 last year?
I think Activision should have gone to a new music franchise (DJ Hero anyone?) and left Guitar Hero alone a while ago...Rock Band on the other hand is making a smart move with the band specific games. Just my opinion...
