Grand Theft Auto 4 update: constant 30 FPS, PS3 dev't slightly behind |
Ó
Bad news, good news, more bad news, and more good news for those who are eagerly waiting for the release of Grand Theft Auto 4 (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360). A recent podcast from 1UP reveals more info on the game.
Ok, first the bad news: Grand Theft Auto 4 will run at a constant 30 FPS for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions. Only 30 FPS you say? NBA 2K8 has double that! Well there's the good news for you, if you look at it another way.
Remember that GTA4 is a sandbox game, and you can do a lot of things as well as go to a lot of places. A lot things can happen all at once in that wide, wild world. 30 FPS is great. Always look at the brighter side of life, so says Monty Python.
Now, on to the other bad news. The PlayStation 3 version, which played a factor in the game's delay, is slightly behind the Xbox 360 version in terms of development. However, the final good news is that both will still be released on the same day.
So there you go. If you want to listen to the podcast yourself, follow the link below. You might also want to take a look at the big GTA4 update posted a while ago in case you missed it. We'll keep you posted.
Thanks to ct-boy for the heads up!

60fps is simply smoother. So while the game will play decent in 30fps. 60fps would havve been a hell of a lot better.

So to clarify the game will run at 30 FPS on both consoles, and the PS3 is behind in its development time line, nothing more.

Or it's IGN who lied, or it's 1up. Personally, I don't visit 1UP, so I'll say they are the liars, but it's baised, lol. So nobody know right now. Still, it's wierd.

To me 60fps means they are simply not advancing or pushing on the graphics and so utilise the power to framerate such as tekken5 on PSN which of course is aqn amazing game.
But then again GT5 may prove me wrong.

Think a little harder next time.

Not to mention the fact that the human eye can read 30fps even if there's more, its not that noticeable, its like graphics. Sure if you look hard enough you may spot different things but its nothing mindblowing.
Also i can't see how the PS3 version is slight behind is a bad thing. The positives far out weigh the negatives. Which will be PS3 will get the game and its going to be great, and its going to be released the same time as 360 version.
So i don't see the reason to point that out.

Also read, it says behind the 360 development. That doesn't mean the 360 is 100% finish yet.
Read the damn article people, instead of just rushing to post, it makes you look like an idiot.

There's a massive difference between a COLON and a SEMICOLON. Colons are used for lists, but Semicolons are used for the indication of an independent thought.
I wrote semicolon. Read a little harder next time.
