Grand New Set of Gran Turismo HD Screens |
Ó

PlayStation 3 is arguably the most powerful console hardware-wise and developer Kazunori Yamauchi is about to take full advantage of it. The demo of this game in E3 displayed visual quality said to be 12 times greater than Gran Turismo 4 was on the PS2, further boosting the game's image as one of the most-anticipated titles for PS3. Developers are also said to be looking in to integrating the EyeToy camera unit for in-game support.
The new set of screens we have here features some of the challenging courses being developed, something the Gran Turismo is well-known for (who could ever forget the deadly Nurburgring and the Grand Canyon?). We also have some flashing the sleek rides we have for this title. Don't let your heart pump too much blood with these screens, save those when the actual game gets released.

Marvelous
Once again PS3 fail to impress me...
hey this is just gran turismo 4 running in hi-def. Same thing microsoft did with halo 2, so don't get your panties in a bunch.
And they're hoping that we'll pay full price for a PS2 game in high-res? Sony, really, come down to earth.
to #3 i don't recall seeing motorcycles in gt 4 player
nt
you guys are mad ignorant so far all they probably did was port the ps2 game of gt4 and tourist trophy put it in hd and are going to work on gfx now because even an xbox fan knows a ps3 can do better then that so calm down its going to look mad good in the end just give it time its like if they showed you project gotham racing 3 before the gfx started turning in to what it eneded up looking like you would be saying the same thing
And those sceens are supposed to be impressive!? HAHA!
Ok, Gran Turismo HD is NOT supposed to impress anyone, it is simply GT4 running in HD... being the first game to run in full 1080p; that is the point. Furthermore, GT:HD is NOT the next installment of the series, said by Yamuchi himself and that the real GT5 will harness the full capabilities of the PS3. So MS fanboys, stop trying to find ***** to downgrade the PS3 (It doesn't help when you pick the worst examples btw).
I think that gthd looks much better than gt4!
I have a love/hate relationship with GT.
Great game. Racing is just too damn really.
But this is going to look so so good.
Looking great so far, and sounded great at E3 (except for that damn horn which just kept playing over and over and over again)
Can't wait for the next GT, its the main reason I will be buying a PS3 (and a new telly!).
I wonder what wheel will be released with the next installment, I'm personally hoping for 900 degrees with clutch this time (please, anyone from Logitech if you're reading this - we need the clutch!). And forget wireless, I want full force feedback again which is gonna need wires (don't know what MS is thinking with their wireless wheel - is it even FF? I think they forgot to mention it at E3). If you are still playing driving sims with a pad you are missing out.
Live for drift!

The PS2 version of GT4 had high quality models, anyone could tell from the Picture mode that the models were of extra high quality. those models are just as good as the car models in PGR for the Xbox360.
The tracks for GT4 were the best in any racing game and they still are. PGR still looks too unrealistic to give the feeling that your racing on a real track.
Combine those two elements and put them in High Def and you still have a high quality game. All they have to do is touch up work and they have a better racing game.
GT4 is by far the ultimate racing game. With the largest amount of cars and tracks it cant be beat. The computer is as difficult as you want them to be and the physics of the cars is just as real as it gets unlike the arcade style driving of almost every other racing game out there.
If GT HD gets a solid multiplayer system, it will beat all other racing games out there. Other racing games have to have online play to compete with GT series.
Took the words right out of my mouth. Gran Turismo 5 will be awesome if the A. I. will be better. In GT through GT4 the computer controlled cars followed a pre-programmed track. I guess that was done to keep the graphics looking good all the time, but we have Cell and the RSX now so that should stop even if it came to there beeing a small trade off. Getting rid of B-Spec mode would be nice.
great graphix but, i bet the gameplay's gonna be crappier than watching crass grow like all the other plastation games, and there price is *****ing foniminal, GO WII AND 360
Was your first console a Xbox or a Gamecube because it sounds like you haven't even touched a single Playstation game ever made. Playstation has had a plethora of great games with great gameplay since it's debut. The only real complaint I've had with gameplay is that many FPS did not feel right to me, except for the TimeSplitter series which did a good job, and that Resistance: Fall of Man seems to be very promising with it's gameplay (check GameSpot's interview with Insomniac).
Also, I don't know where you have been but the Playstation platform has had more games with great gameplay than Xbox and 360, while atleast Nintendo has done nothing but innovate in this section lately; they'd be the only ones even beating Sony.
If you want to get your point across, you should make an educated post and with correctly spelled words, if you can. Maybe someone will have more respect for you, even if they disagree. I mean you did pass the 6th grade at least, right? Also, there is a *big* difference between there, their, and they're.
well said #16
are old. However, I am excited about GT5, or should I say GTHD!!
Sony. Listen to Zerowing.
Logitech. Listen to Zerowing.
GT:HD and GT5 is/are the reason(s) I will be buying a PS3. The last go round was awesome and well worth the wait for GT4. Make the new steering wheel. Make it full size. Add the clutch. Give us an H=pattern shifter. No manumatics please. We live in the the next generation. We have the money to buy the products. Make them for us. I'll gladly pay for the goods.
Those of us who think that this title will be released "on time and on schedule" need a serious reality check. Expect multiple, multiple, extended delays before launch. Particularly on the GT5 version. If GTHD is in fact GT4 at 1080p, then MAYBE we'll see it before March '07. I would not expect to see GT5 until late 2008 at this point. But i KNOW that it will be worth the wait.
some of you are complete morons. Sony isn't selling off GT:HD it was a demo showcasing 1080p resolution... something the M$ nubs can't do.
GT5 will use a new game engine incase you didn't see the conference. And TBH... this 'PS2 revamp' *****s all over PGR3 ...
You know, a HUD is not essential to have a running game. Developers only add them to make it more user friendly and to know how many bullets you have left or something to that effect. Motorstorm can look like that, but it is the developer's choice if they want to put forth that much effort to that level of detail throughout the entire game. Also, the demo at E3 was probably around a 1-2week old build or more; from that point they have over 6 months to perfect the game and 80% of all E3 demos are rushed to give a *generalized* idea of what the game will feel and look like.
You should take a look at a little game from E3 called Heavy Rain. The demo utilized a decent amount of the PS3's power and showed off real-time post-processing with High Dynamic Range and high quality anti-aliasing; it also used some of the PS3's built-in physics for real time dynamic cloth and fluid animation. Although I can't wait to see more of the game after they fix the lip synching a bit as I can't see a developer shipping a game with sub-par synching with great audio.
Also, tryin to be all "gansta" and ***** doesn't help you prove your point; it just makes you look like a dumbass and furthers the sterotype of the kind of players on Xbox Live, whiny little *****es that scream "*****", "jew" or other derisions because they can't compete at another person's level.
