When Sony announced the March 2010 release for Gran Turismo 5, they meant that one for Japan. As for all the other regions, you'd be disappointed if you're hoping for a 2009 international release. Polyphony Digital boss-man Kazunori Yamauchi explains the story.

"I don't think it's going to be that different for US and Europe," he said. "Marketing is still discussing their issues," he added, explaining why the margin has not been specified for all other regions so far.

With over 950 to cars to race around over 70 variations of 20 different locations, driving sim fans are already at the edge of their seats waiting. Since Japan has had their announcement first, it's possible that all the rest may have to wait up a bit. For how long, that's up to Sony marketing to decide, and for us to fish out later.

PD always takes a long time with their games if you havn't noticed.

Also, it's the ONLY car sim worth spending your money on.

Don'y worry, all they have done is GT games ;)

Someone working on the game and not really involved with PR said they could release it at any time, but were waiting to put polish on it and for other factors.

I will tell you for a fact that this game is not releasing this year because of GT for the PSP.

If they released GT5 in the next few months, how many people would buy GT for the PSP when they could get it on PS3 ? Obviously some would, but the majority would wait for the PS3 version.

They just want to promote PSP-go and sell some games on the PSP before they release on the PS3.
