GoW3 scans, a bloodbath of gory details: 1080p native, no load screens, 'more erotic' sex minigames

Bring on the gore! With God of War III finally getting that trailer, it looks like Sony's media blitz is starting to kick off with a force to be reckoned. Here's the latest: the new issue of French magazine PSM3.

Some/most of the details have either been revealed before or aren't all that surprising. But it's nice to see them all lined up in bulletpoints nonetheless:

1080p native resolution, no obvious loading times (like Uncharted, DMC4), stable framerate (unclear whether 60fps)
No SIXAXIS tilt-sensing controls - the team couldn't figure out a seamless way to incorporate it without making it appear to be forced or gimmicky.
GoW3 won't have too many weapons and new features. The Santa Monica team wants to keep it simple without overburdening the player.
No co-op. No online mode whatsoever. Just pure single-player Kratos.
GoW3 engine is an evolved GoW2 engine, using the PS3 hardware to its maxed potential - Naughty Dog and Insomniac Games helped out with some development.
Real-time damage, blood, gore - the engine can even (probably?) render specific cuts on Kratos, show bulging muscles, and sweat.
Speaking of bulging muscles and sweat, the sex-minigame is back (it wouldn't be a GoW game without it). SCE Santa Monica promises "more erotic scenes" this time around.
Kratos has a new wall-run ability (like in Prince of Persia)

I dont know what your idea of load time is but, DMC4 is divided in missions, when you start or finish a mission, the game stops and takes you to a mission briefing menu, choose what you wanna do next, mission loads and youre in the game. And when youre in the game, whenever you have to go through a door, the screen darkens for a second to LOAD the next room.

In uncharted, you can play from start to finish without ever seeing a menu or the screen going black for a second or two, the only time youll see the screen go dark is when it switches to a cutscene which takes like a fraction of a second. the ONLY time you have to obviously load something is after you choose continue or start in the main menu.

I remember hearing from the director that the sex mini game might make a return but haven't fully decided what to do with it yet. There was a game trailers video of it.

what the hell man....seriously how would you get "overburdened"

i think that's just an excuse because the team is just lazy >.>

but who cares this game will be awesome even if it wont have too many weapons...as long as it has maybe 1 or 2 more than gow2 then i will be ok :)

im also sort of happy there is no multiplayer...but then again im not

i just hope there are a alot more minigames/challenges for after we finish the story.

Why would they lie about that? It's 1080p native, and a super expensive and well-known franchise.. They're doing what some of the best devs do: Stick with the old and improve it.

its basically the same swing the blades around and punch mechanism as GOW: CoO? That game was awesome because it had powers like that light blast too. I hope this game has like special powers.

Anyways, this game's graphics alone will warrant a purchase.

No obvious load times and being oblivious are two different things. Just cause you are oblivious doesn't mean something is not obvious. You just didn't have the sense to realize it which is what he's pointing out. Plus the fact that you have the game's backward.

On the first gameplay trailer for Gow 3, if you slow motion when he grabs one of the harpies feet...you can totally see it's tits, but with the nips blurred out. I havn't played any GoW games, so didn't know if they showed nips, guess so, it was prolly to keep the trailer pg13.....

Not to attack this game I'm about to say, considering I love it, but it's a different style, but that's exactly how Devil May Cry is. It has alot of weapons, more than God of War usually. While there's going to be 3 new weapons including the gauntlets(Cestu s-lion head ones), The system is just more of the of the last PS2 engines, just thing game they're focusing on alot of other things besides weapons. I mean there's basically styles of combat you're going to have. I'm not bothered by that statement, in fact I'm happy about it. I'm a monster God of War fan, hell you could probably call me a fanboy, mythology has always been my area of interest and expertise. I'm just happy they're keeping the combat very similar while adding new fresh material like the PoP wall running thing. :)
