Golden Axe Coming to the PS3 and Xbox 360 |

Sega has already announced the coming of the side-scrolling arcade fighting game Golden Axe to the PS3 and the Xbox 360. Secret Level will be developing the new versions for the next-gen consoles.
Golden Axe was released in 1989 and was then a very popular game as it even had several ports for the Mega Drive/Genesis and Sega Master System.Sega is now bringing back the game as an action-RPG where players will assume the role of Riders embarking on an epic adventure. They will have to recruit allies during their journey to help them in their quest to expose their enemy and to help them prevent total annihilation of human civilization.
Players will charge into battle either on foot or on the back of ferocious beasts as they tackle with their enemies using their wits, combat skills and even magic.
Golden Axe is scheduled for a release next year. Hopefully all three heroes in the original Golden Axe game (Ax Battler, Gilius Thunderhead and Tyris Flare) are also included in this version.

This wont be nearly as good as the originals, sorry.
I was excited when i read the headline, thought it would be the original on the Live Arcade, they should do that instead, or both, as long as I get the original, with online multiplayer!!

I loved this game back in the day, I hope they include the original with the new version.
Looks like that girl forgot to take off the sunglasses before stepping into the tanning booth! I hope this game is good... it's one of my all time favorite arcade classics!

Golden Axe was a favorite of mine. Now if they can get Streets of Rage into the next gen (without screwing it up), I'll be happy
Never really liked the series on the Sega.... I'm hoping it will be okay on the xbox360 and ps3.
I'm glad SEGA is finally reviving the series but it's not being developed by sega of Japan, instead they are giving to an american studio named Secret Level and are probably gona ***** it up..
but you gotta admit, the difference in quality between american developers and japanese developers isn't the same as back in the day... in some cases, american developers exceed the japanese now if those character designs are anything of an indication, it looks like they're headed the right way (i'd like to club her on the head and take her home barbarian style... har har)
