God of War movie shelved, director Ratner moves on |
Ó
You can't see it, but Kratos is crying out of relief
Brett Ratner, who directed the last X-Men movie and all three Rush Hour films, was confirmed to direct the movie adaptation of God of War a few months ago. Recently though, he left the project (temporarily at least) to direct another flick, a comedy titled Trump Heist.
Good news, or bad news? Good news for Kratos, bad news for comedy. Trump Heist will have Ratner pairing up with Chris Tucker again. The movie is about con artists who get jobs in the Trump Towers to rob its rich residents.
So where's the God of War movie now? Probably suffering in development hell.

It would be hard to translate such an epic storyline into a movie and make it worthy.I'd hate to see it squandered with the lacking of details as hollywood is good at doing when it comes to movies adapted from games.
"The movie is about con artists who get jobs in the Trump Towers to rob its rich residents." Whoa, maybe we need to reconsider the director here, boys. Someone who takes on a movie like that should not be directing God of War. And let me get this straight.. He's leaving an epic project like God of War to go direct a squeaky-voiced black dude in a goofy ass movie? Just.. wow. Aside from GoW where is my Metal Gear Solid Moive movie?!
I'm so glad that Ratner is out of the picture! That was a joke in itself having him on board. Hope it gets a real director and some support behind it in the future.
Can I vote for a CGI movie?, cause honestly there are lots of things to do to create the awesome fantasy world of God of War.
I don't think this guy cares enough about the game to be the director, I'm not sure he even cares about it. If he takes that kind of films
Hope he can pull it off right, but I seriously doubt it
I would watch the movie anyway though
So by that note. It's a good thing the director did move onto another movie
who can dare to direct this movie then?
Man, I loved playing GOW I on my PSP, does anyone know why they did not make II and III for the PSP? GOW I was an awesome game for the PSP! Please don't stop porting them to the PSP!
How can they stop porting them if they never started? You must mean GOW Chains of Olympus because the original GOW is not even on the psp. I'm guessing they didn't make II or III for the psp because they would rather make an original GOW like the one your playing. III isn't gonna be out for a while and its on ps3 thats pretty obvious why it wouldn't be on psp.
Every video game based movie should be CGI.
Except for the first Final Fantasy movie... I just think that shouldn't have been made.
I wish the makers of God Of War would just make a CG movie. That would be the best way and I think if done as good as the games, it would win a lot of movie awards.
..I'd like to suggest Zack Zinder (he was the director of 300). I like the gritty style of the movie and he knows King Leonidas!
what every movie needs is a director with a passion. until one of those steps up for gow movie, we cannot even hope for a good adaptation.
