God of War III - Image 1

Those waiting for a taste of God of War III before the year ends may have to make do with the God of War I & II Blu-ray compilation to get their fix. According to John Hight, the director of production development at SonyÂ’s Santa Monica Studio, it's unlikely that a God of War III demo would be included in the compilation due out later this year.

Here's what Hight told IGN:

That is unlikely at this juncture. First and foremost, we want to be able to have this available for this holiday, and we donÂ’t have a demo available yet that we feel is release-ready.

I know a lot of people played the E3 demo and dug it and everything but, as far as our standards, itÂ’s not ready to go into everybodyÂ’s home. So we wouldnÂ’t want to hinder our efforts to get God of War 1 and #@%!5
6#@%! out.

So there goes those rumors that the demo would be included in the two-pack, but at least we know that it's definitely coming. And if you consider the amount of attention they're giving to the demo, just imagine how the full game would look like.

God of War III is scheduled for a March 2010 launch.

i got to play the demo at comic con 2009 here in toronto ive got to say the games going to be awesome. But who cared either way well all play the real game, sometimes playing the demo ruins the excitement a bit.

I remember reading a lot of people's comments saying they wanted to pick this up mainly for the demo. A lot of people still have the ps2 versions. I'm curious how much this will affect the sales. They should offer access to a future demo for download when it is ready, or atleast code a special weapon on it for when they do get III. Some kind of offering that will carry over for when III does come out. Just a thought.

to be honest, I actually prefer no playable demo for god of war 3. Listen, most of the people who played God of War 1 and 2 knows just how awesome this game is going to be. It still feels like God of War based off the videos and Stig Asmussen confirmed that the controls are easily the same.

In all honesty, I had a feeling that demo with the original two games was a rumor. In fact, I have to say this god of war collection, with upped graphics, 2X Anti-Aliased, 60 frames per second, 720p and individual trophies are exceeds my expectations for this. I mean this is better than just putting the originals on blu-ray with God of War 3 package. I never dreamt of having trophies being possible if they were to put that in with the original in the pack, now that god of war 3 will have trophies and God of war 1 and 2 will, this just makes me giddy as a school girl cause I'm a huge fan of the series and love greek myth(and a trophy whore. :3).

Also, I think the people who never played the original 2 games would prefer this. It'll look much sharper, it's almost like a remake, not a port. I really don't like that word for this. but hey, SMS is awesome.
